I'll bet this rig is still working. It will be throwing snow when brand new units in the same class today are being recycled. I have a ca. 1977 Simplicity garden tractor that is all original and I've never even replaced anything.

In the 8 years since this video, outside of basic maintenance, I have upgraded the snow blower to a 42" model and converted the motor from points to a magnetron ignition for reliability. I suspect it will outlast me.

Do you go through belts fast? Also did you mount this with pins that have a little give or bolts to hold it solid? Just trying to troubleshoot ours as it keeps throwing the belt

The hitch is mounted with pins that have a little wobble to them. I do not go through belts, but it’s not uncommon because of bad bearings in the pulleys or rusty sheaves. Make sure everything spins nice and free and that there isn’t rust or crud in the pulleys.

If a nuke drops, the only things that will survive are roaches and simplicity garden tractors.i have 3 and they seem to be indestructible.

I have the 3414s baran it a good little tractor but I still like my big10 better I think the 3414 shuttle shift lever is a big part of why I like the big10 because it doesn't have it .
