What about if the component you want to route to is in the main assembly already? How do you do a from/to to that? Basically have it route to a component that you don't want to place because it has already been placed before hand

Oh,I do have another question. On solidworks electrical,how did you enable the option ''Main electrical closet''? When I create a project,I have the same options as you,except this one.

Samyr Helou Are you asking how do I create my 3D Panel in SOLIDWORKS? These options are based on our project locations. By using locations, you can build your 3D model in sections based on your schematics. Under the Project Tab, you can create new locations (and apply them to sheets or specific components). Then when you add a SOLIDWORKS Cabinet Layout inside the Process Tab, your locations will be selectable.

Hello Tom, my name is Alejandro and i'm from Argentina. Your explanations about the use of Solidworks Electrical are very good and interesting, but I have a doubt about it. When i click over "Route Cables" appears the next error message: Routing can not be performed correctly because some Solidworks configurations are missing. To resolve this problem run the import of source/destination list default in the electrical routing. I don't know which is this configuration, can you help me, please? Some of the important pieces to remember when routing cables are: make sure you have a cable connection point on your 3d part, make sure parts are associated to the schematic, make sure there is an EW_PATH that allows a route, and make sure cable cores/cables are drawn in the schematic. Hello,I have a question. How did you manage to insert the components in the box?(By components,i mean the C points.) For instance,I have a car structure built in solidworks,how can i insert a car battery,sensors,switches and etc in the structure?

Samyr Helou If you are using SOLIDWORKS Electrical, the Electrical Manager (on the left side of the SOLIDWORKS screen) will have all the components from your schematic in a tree form. In order to insert your 3D components, they need to be assigned to your schematic symbol using the database for manufacturer parts. The C-Points can be created using the Electrical Component Wizard inside of SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D Add-in. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
