Oh I love the author's books of the historical book you picked! I've never seen anyone else reading them. I haven't read them though since I was a teenager so I'm not sure what I would think now. But I definitely think DNF'ing is very fair in a series like this (and in general)!

Nicely done. I liked how you vlogged it and it makes sense that you had more unhauls then likes based on what you were saying. I think for you it's really going to be an experiment to see how many times you're surprised by a book, as opposed to the ocassional dnf.

I really struggle to unhaul as well. I have been trying to do better recently and have cleared my shelves of books that were given to me, and I didn't necessarily choose for myself. I originally wanted to at least try them, but it was clear I was never going to. This is a great way to get through a lot of those books that just end up sitting there.

Glad I'm not alone 😊 A ton of the books I have unread on my shelves came from other people, garage sale type situations, etc. But I still can't just get rid of them 😫

According to Goodreads, Dance Dance Dance is the 4th book in a series, so probably a good choice to unhaul it.

Subscribed! I love this tbr challenge concept! I’m always trying to simplify my book collection. I did a massive book unhaul recently and sold/gave away close to 100 probably, but I have a lot of unread books on my shelves, particularly historical romance. So I need to do something similar. I’ve tried in the past but ended up quitting. But I wish you the best of luck with your challenge and I’m excited to watch the series.

I have a hard time unhauling books, but I sure can buy them. I have well over a thousand books and sadly quite a lot are unread. I need to stop reading library books and start reading what I own. I made a joke that I should start borrowing what I own from the library and maybe then I’ll start reading what I own. lol…..stupid. Good luck!!! Love the video

Agreed, Dune and Murakami are on my very short "nope list". My list is over 300 unread... yours is much more managable. I should do some shelf reflection ...eeeventually. 16 out of my last 21 books were historical fiction, most were 3☆, but Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus became my new best of the year! My fav smut series has s³× magic, It's Taken by the Witch Queen by Luna Fury. It's all women which helps with the light consentual bdsm bits. I'm ok with those kind of things if it's all men, all women, or if it's a woman in charge of a man but not the other way around.

Why Dune? Having now tried Murakami I can completely understand that one 😆 Eh, leave the shelf reflection to suckers like me haha I know physical TBR counts get way crazier than mine, but I get overwhelmed by choice so mine is already too big for me. I'm kind of jealous of people with 500+ books to choose from, but I've come to terms with the fact that that isn't the life for me. I have Lessons in Chemistry on my neverending Goodreads TBR. Now you have me intrigued again! And don't get me wrong, the magic system wasn't my issue. It was the violence against children that put me off that book 😅 If I'm reading books with any kind of smut, I prefer them without a side of that 🤣

I want to. I've tried a few different ways of keeping track and I always forget to update them. But if I'm starting with a smaller amount, hopefully it'll be easier to keep up
