Great tips 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Once you start managing on your own with the family's help you don't ever need a maid and things are efficiently done and handled. Most of the people do not realise one huge fact that when we do things on our own ,we do not make a mess after that. When we do not have help we never keep the things around and forget about them. Also our level of cleaning is much more superior to that of a helper who has to go to several houses. I vacuum and mop my house only twice a week but my floor is always clean. Vacuuming is thousand times more efficient than broom. Using v hot water for mopping in spin mop bucket removes oiliness from kitchen floor.

One of us kids was always in charge of drying up the washed utensils & storing them back in closet. After 16 age we all kids knew how to cook relatively on edible index. Today, single kids + first cousins included are independent in India & overseas. No servants to get us water & clean up our discarded shoes. The lame excuse of My house is a mess coz servant did not come.. is just an excuse by people who are not lazy but do not know what is time management. It does not take 5 days for a person to pick up their kids discarded toys amid spilled water & discarded food napkins. Again i salute your mum coz its so relatable. ✌🏻

Preferably clean below dining table too after each meal now a days u get the dust pan with a long handle, upward, it is such a blessing..

Month of May gets really dusty in Delhi and surrounding areas. What worked for me was vacuuming twice a week (I divided the house into 2 parts and vacuumed 4 days a week. Once a week we would sweep and mop. Later on we picked up the pace and did traditional sweeping mopping daily. Most important thing was to clean the balconies and entryway gallery DAILY. Otherwise, we were just dragging the outside dust in with our feet.

Women in India are very spoiled as they can easily get a maid. But those of us in the US, this is our day to day life. We work securely full time and come home, cook, clean, do dishes, do laundry, sweep, mop, drive kids to activities, take care of kids, do grocery shopping, meal prep, volunteer our time for charity work, exercise, do spiritual activities and much more. On top of that, we manage our budget so that we can save money and send that to India so that the relatives can live a lavish life with the maid's help. Hats off to working women working and living abroad. We are proud of ourselves for handling everything great here. Finally, many upper-middle-class wives in India are doing "Actual" real work at home. I couldn't watch most of your videos (about productivity or time management) on this channel because I couldn't relate to you. You have so much free time in your hands and all you have to do is some dusting, reheating food, and throw dishes in the sink. The tips in this video are already being followed by every wife in USA and so your tips are not new. When pandemic hit, it didn't affect us because we were already doing all these things by ourselves. If there are any changes, it's just that we are driving less than before. Sorry if I am being negative, I am just simply stating the facts. I do like some of your organizing videos as you give tips on how to rearrange things. But some of the products you use are super expensive even according to US standards. FYI - Even when I lived in India, we never had a maid. My mom told me that it is a shameful thing to ask another human to do clean up our mess. We should be able to take care of ourselves. My mom told me that only disabled people need a housemaid. Her thoughts are deeply engrained in me.
@purvakirloskar7 ай бұрын
Spoiled you say? Wow Women are calling out women nice! Great thoughts your mother has engraved in you. If you don't relate with this video you can go and watch videos on how Indian women hire maids. BTW nobody asked you to leave the country or stay in the country and do everything on your own. It's your CHOICE. I'm sure washing dishes by a dishwasher is more difficult than by hands. Vacuuming a floor (where dust barely accumulates outside India) instead of moping floors everyday and dusting everyday is also difficult?. I'm sure washing your clothes using washing machine is more difficult than washing it by hands. I'm sure driving a car with AC then going in the supermarket to buy groceries is super difficult. Living on your own, as you want without relatives or in laws must be so hectic. Working 5 days a week is difficult compared to Indian women that works 6 or 7 days a week? Working from home must be difficult. Taking holidays as you please must be difficult. Scrapping a meal like pasta and bread must be difficult. People in US can also hire a maid if they can AFFORD it. It is your choice to work for people outside your country. Don't whine about it. Please don't compare your lavish lifestyle with women in India. Everyone has their own struggles. You are doing everything that you do for yourself and your family. Don't compare. You just can't compare. You must be brain damaged to do that.
@vvanisri5 ай бұрын
I understand your agony but since you have no other option you are believing such concepts especially what your mother said....(with all due respect to her) But i am sure if you would have had an option or stayed in india you for sure would have hired a maid. You say homemakers in india are leading a lavish life sry but no madam,do you think every woman in india is previleged multi millionaire wives( i m sure even they are hard working but anyway coming back to the topic), Moreover these husbands sit like maharaja's in india,may be men in your family help but that is unfortunately not the case in most womens life living in india,so we have to depend on whatever external help available,i mean outsourcing is not bad & frankly i do not relate with your mothers opinion,the mess that she is talking about is no doubt our's but it needs to be cleaned day-in & day-out & honestly tell me how is it possible to sweep & mop all by ourselves day-in & day-out,i mean dont we have other works to do what is wrong in assigning it to someone else,after all they are not doing it for free,for example-god forbid if you develop some growth in your body tommorow will you treat it yourself diagnose it yourself ,if surgery needed will you do it yourself i mean after all its your mess why take help of surgeons & doctors??? You seem to have a problem with outsourcing,i mean i can empathize with you as indian women do not get domestic help or maids in foreign countries but in india if someone is availing some service available to them at their disposal why do you have to feel so wrong about it, i mean you couples living abroad also get exposed to so many advantages then do we question u for being on brighter side of things,so stop moral policing,household situations are different for every individual so if you can handle well & good else find some other way,this fault finding in others is not a good trait. Every situation comes with its own set of advantages & disadvantages.
@amruthabaskaran5305 ай бұрын
@@vvanisri Your comments make no sense. Comparing a maid with a doctor, wow, brilliant! Why are you involving Nita Ambani? If you are unable to talk to your husband and children to participate in family chores, then don't talk to a stranger like me. First, you talk to your family and see how you can work as a team and maintain a home. Regardless of living in India or abroad, being self-sufficient is good. I obviously have higher principles and moral values and you cannot connect with me which is ok. Not everyone can be Industrious!
@vvanisri4 ай бұрын
@@amruthabaskaran530 Now arent you being derogatory towards maids Learn to respect labour Its hardwork which matters whether done by a doctor or a domestic help. If you really have such high morals & principles in life it should also reflect in how you speak especially with strangers that too on a public platform like this. I can also speak as harsh as you but i choose not to,moreover i only said i understand your agony but you seem to be shutting me out,you have no right to do so just like you commented i also expressed my opinion. Just being laborious or doing all household work by yourself is not reflective of high morals & principles,learn to speak to others politely first.

Most people in India, even those in low - middle class households have MAIDS who do everything , cooks, kitchen cleaners, laundry person. During the pandemic, I can see some people not coming into a house, or employers not allowing their help to come into the home, in which case it may help. Let's hope your husband, older children are helping you as they should!

That’s absolutely terrible that your husband thinks it’s only a wife’s duty to do housework. How can people say he might be “caring” in other ways? Taking care of home and kids is a partnership in marriage. Wives are not slaves who should take on the whole responsibility while husbands just relax and not help. He’s actually quite horrible for having that mentality and thinking he can just go through life without contributing to basic household tasks. You deserve better, especially with a baby. It’s hard enough looking after a baby but having to pick up the whole responsibility of housework along with that? Wow, Men in india seriously lack common sense. This is what happens when you go directly from your mum’s house to living with your wife. No thought for others struggles
