I'm in the US and there are some stores that do have better changing rooms. Torrid has a fan you can turn on!! But there are also ones that arn't great. I was a size US 24...(have lost some weight... had to for health) and & can now fit a US 18 or an XL... but sizing is still all over the place, even from the same shop. Shops that are soley plus size tend to be a bit more generous and have better cuts. Thank you for your video! 💗(I am not even brave enough to post on WW!!)

I commend your bravery in doing this video. Good one. I totally agree that the catalogue pictures do not display the clothing as it would look on large ladies. I think they are very skimpy with the materials they use to make clothes in your size. I am no fashionista but I loved the colour of the first top but not where they started the darts from, so the overall effect makes you look quite square where it should make you look taller, being a tunic. I'm not a fan of the brown animal print and the arms are too short for that peplum look. The denim is as you say too small, if only they had it in a bigger size. The track suit looked brown but I think the colour was charcoal. The jacket could be useful if you need one, but you need to be able to zip it up sometimes. Loved the mint dressing gown, obviously useful and a keeper. Nice pattern on the swimsuit but they need their designers to actually try it on larger ladies before they try and market it to you. Overall disappointing that the clothes were not generous in their sizing but your modelling and commentary was excellent. I hope you enjoyed making this video. Looking forward to your next release whatever it may be. xx

Bravo, Carla, what a great video! Such a shame that the catalog models are not even close to a real plus-size woman, would really help us to get a better idea. The first cobalt blue top and the zebra one would be fabulous with just a tad more material in them, wish the designers would get the message that since we're a bit larger around, we need a bit more to get the length to fall nicely. Love the toweling robe, shame about the swimming costume but my goodness, they need to re-evaluate that design! Some sort of an inset piece would have made a world of difference. I've been watching Caroline's plus-size clothing hauls - lots of nice designs out there but as you say, not so much in the larger sizes. I'm in the US so I can look out some catalogs and check the sizing for you - I get them in the mail all the time. Well done, I know it took a lot for you to share this with us and we so appreciate your honest review of the clothing.

Hi Carla, I agree with you about the plus size models being smallest ‘plus size’ although I have seen some bigger girls modelling stuff like bloggers etc so this is changing a bit. The blue top looked great on you as did the ‘robe’ but the rest weren’t cut right for you. I bought the denim lightweight top thinking I’ll size up for a bit of fluidity but at size 24 this still felt small and tight round the back. After one wash I can’t wear it because it has shrunk like a second skin. There must be something iffy about the material. Finally I would say you should do more try ons. You’re good at them! ASOS Curve has some good plus size items you could try? SHEIN- always size up but tbh 5XL is the biggest and they don’t always fit well on me a size 20-22. I always size up to 24-26 because I know I need more space but Shien aren’t good at the larger sizes so beware. You can get some nice kaftans on eBay if you type in ‘plus size’ too. Good luck with your search for decent well cut clothes! You’re a lovely lady who is flying the flag for plus size and that’s a great thing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Plus size shopping is HORRIBLE! I used to work for Evans when I was a teenager and it was more a counciling job than a sales job! I’m Plus size myself size 24/26 but I’m 6 foot 2 tall. NOTHING FITS! I’m so excited for winter I can live in leggings and baggy dresses and cardigans (when I’m not sweating into a puddle!) Nothing ever fits right I learned how to sew so I could alter clothes to make them fit better. So disheartening. Well done for sharing! X

I live here in the US and for a LONG time I had to order from magazines and online and I ordered from Woman Within and they are connected to Romans Lane Bryant and a few others and I have gotten some really nice clothes from there. When I was at my highest weight the magazines were the only way I could get any clothes unless I made them which I have done.

Hi Carla! Great first plus haul. Coming from a fellow plus size lady 26/28, here’s my take. I pretty much agree with all your opinions on the items. The track zip jacket looks best, the pansy top was cute but if you feel bothered by it it would probably end up just sitting in your closet (know from experience... glances over at closet full of stuff I don’t wear lol). The post shower gown looks perfect n comfy for just lounging with a spa mask during some “me time”. I usually pass on stuff that doesn’t stretch ie the denim top unless I just wear it open over a tank top or something. Bummer about the khaki animal print it was so cute 😩. Look forward to another haul and ps I hope you get around to my Facebook message I sent awhile back. You were already my favourite KZbinr before this video, but now...all hail Carla! So refreshing to see someone like me doing a clothing try on, and admitting they’re nervous about doing it but doing it anyway. I’ve tried Simply Be and found the same problems, I like Yours Clothing and have had some success with Next’s Curve range and the Seasalt plus size range, both of which go up to 28 and are generously-sized. My legs are like yours and apart from a pair of lovely stretchy jeans, the only trousers I feel comfortable to wear out are Next’s wide leg linen blend trousers. All power to you Carla, I loved this video and would enjoy seeing more like this ❤️

That swimming costume was a horrible reminder of when I bought a new one for holiday without trying it on first and had to physically hold it together and only sunbathe on my front! Definitely a gap in the market for lovely plus size clothing. I did like the Joe Browns blue top though.

Thanks for showing us the haul, you’re a natural born presenter and speak a lot of sense. I’m large and get so frustrated with plus size clothes. The material is often cheap, the patterns on the fabric look outdated, and as for the cut....!!!! So disappointing. PS I hate my legs too! Keep the Joe Brown top (gorgeous pattern) and wear it with a long black duster to help cover the bum area (I apologise if that’s too personal and sounds cheeky but I am the same shape, even down to the leg bumps). PPS oh, that wallpaper! I adore it!

Loved the 1st blue Joe Browns top, it really is your colour but if your anything like me it will just sit in your wardrobe cause your not completely happy with it! All the other items where fabulous looking but disappointing once on due to either size or cut which is such a shame! Although I think you rocked the full on trackie vibe!! As for the swimsuit...well you’d be flashing those bad boys in no time with deep V!! 😂We need more of these hauls please!! 👍👏🙌Tx

Fantastic try on, for us plus size ladies. I'm a size 30/32 too, and it is so disappointing trying on clothes that don't fit. I'm definitely going to order the towel robe. The first blue top looked comfortable to wear, I'd keep that. The denim top....looked nothing like the photo! We used to own a plus size stall in our local indoor market for many years, but the factories all moved abroad and it got harder to find the stock. We had to close about 5 years ago. The plus size trade is so minimal now. Well done.

Well done Carla, as a fellow plus size I struggle to like clothing on my shape and haven't gone shopping for new stuff in years. I just try on clothes I buy at car boots and jumble sales in the privacy of my bedroom, anything rejected gets sold, so win win. I loved your honesty and your sense of humour in this vlog and the sizing does vary so much, it's so frustrating! Thank you so much for doing this. I find the catalogs come up small 😡, I’ve stopped shopping in Evans apart from shoes but I love yours clothing. The blue flower print top looked lovely on you, I also liked the hoody & the towelling robe. It really annoys me that designers think they can take a style that looks fab on a smaller size make it plus size and it will look as good on us when most of the time it doesn’t, the swimsuit was a perfect example of this. It seems crazy that a company like simplybe don’t employ models that represent their costumer base!! Also i think that denim dress was a bit of a scam, the fabric and colours that you received looked completely different to the catalogue image! Loved this video, Carla, you're a natural in front of the camera. Having been plus size myself I know the frustrations of finding nice clothes to fit - it's just not easy. And, as you rightly say, there are an awful lot of plus size people out there who are not being catered for. If somebody could address that gap in the market they'd make a fortune. PS When I met you once in Kingswood I thought how beautifully dressed you were (unlike me who was in my Tai Chi gear at the time!!)

I often thought I look terrible in an all in one piece and I did, me in my bra & knickers was a better look, so on that basis I switched to wearing a bikini and let's say I have never looked back. ** Warning - This will be a long reply so grab a can of pepsi max :) ** Firstly you are phenomenal Carla, beautiful, brave, lovely, kind, funny to name but a few things, it is all of these things that radiate from you and is what I and 99% of others see when we watch your video's. Being a fellow shelf owner (I used to own two ha ha) and also having thick thighs I want to salute you for showing the world that there is nothing wrong with it and though we all have things that bother us about the way we look we should not be afraid of having it, showing it and living our lives with it etc as you know my story you know how much I hid from the world due to the way I judged myself first and foremost, granted I was clouded by my mental health but the further along I get the less I want to be stopped by the fear that once consumed me. You inspire more then you'll ever know. On to the clothes - Loved the blue top the colour is fab on you and I thought it was a great shape on you, it really showed off your curves, I understand why you felt the way you did at the back, as I always felt that things gathered on my shelf in the past and would be constantly pulling at it, however I thought it looked great and hope you keep it and wear it. I also liked the jogging set I thought the fit of Joe Brown's seemed very good, I didn't notice your legs till you pointed them out, I have them too in fact because of the lymphdema mine look like the Michelin man, however I agree if you aren't going to go out in them then they are extremely expensive lounge wear. The camo and denim top's were both lovely just shame about there sizing. Loved the towelling robe as it looked so comfy and I thought you looked fab in the swimsuit just a shame simply be didn't finish off putting the material round the girls as us plus size ladies tend to be bustier. I agree with you these companies need to pull there fingers out and sort it out I'm around your size, I have skirts which are 34/36 but i could probably size down in them as they just elasticated waist ones from yours but I kind don't see the point in buying new ones as yet as I don't go out enough and mostly live in nighties I have 15 of them. Last ones I got were the panda ones fro simply be's in a size 32/34 for my birthday. I have two fleece yours hoodies in a 30/32 and the sleeves are great, i usually struggle to get anything to fit my arms I end up looking like I'm wearing tubular bandages ha ha I recently got a new hoodie from yours for my birthday in the size 30/32 and it I guess because it's cotton it's too tight on the arms. Good on ya Carla! Loved the video! 😘 I’m size 24/26 I don’t like simply be because the sizes and shapes don’t suit me! One of my daughters used to be a personal shopper with simply be and I used to complain all the time to her! 😂 Insider tip: get bra fitted it’s a game changer!!!! I prefer Yours clothing which my other daughter now works for, but even they have they’re problems 😆 ... I don’t know about you but no plus size retailer has ever asked me my opinion on fit shape or styles!!! BTW because of the great reseller community here on youtube I’ve started selling... had 19 sales (£200+ including fees) in just over a month which of course is low compared to you guys but I’ve only a few listings so far so I think it’s a good start! 👍🏻😘

I liked the Joe Browns things on you, the blue top really suited your colouring and the track bottoms and jacket were very nice.I'm very interested in plus size fashion and agree it's badly catered for. I just don't know why as there are a lot of us about, thanks for doing this try on x
