Back in the early 90s, I was security guard at BBC HQ and we got to know quite a few of the stars from the time. Got invited to a party at a house (can't remember whose, possibly Jo Whiley's) and Mick turned up, sang 'Angel' on the karaoke machine. A moment I'll never forget.

Irish soul. The Irish (and the Scottish) often refer to themselves as the "blacks" of Europe, because they were oppressed by England and suffered through a lot of poverty, urbanization, and religious (not racial) violence.
