Thanks for this simple to follow DIY!! I wanted to do something unique for the shower and I’m grandma , lol, and it’s a Boy! She wants the name blocks and I am pretty savvy on making things but not a lot of time to put into it ! Health situations! But it’s a surprise and I can do this thanks to your demonstration! Your ideas are awesome and I will be back to get others for sure!!

Love, love, love it. I just went our and gathered my material for blocks this past weekend but will definitely be doing your method. On your video, there is a small patch of the box you did not cover with the wrapping paper. Is that where you glued the stencil and how did you get the background of the letter to look the same as the wrap paper?
@SimplyLavish8 жыл бұрын
Yolanda, I am so glad you found the video useful! The uncovered spot was the bottom - it wouldn't be seen when the blocks are set up. Every place visible (top and sides) are completely covered by the paper. Good Luck and share those pictures with me.

@stephrubio30087 жыл бұрын
Beautiful! What size wrapping paper did you use? I recently bought some but they don't cover on the sides either.
@SimplyLavish7 жыл бұрын
I think the one I used was 30" wide. I can't be sure. When you run into that you may have to do some improvising to cover any open spaces. If you have a small area, you can possibly over it with a decoration. A larger area may require more paper.

Nice!!! How much wrapping will I need for 12 box..
@SimplyLavish8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Well since I did not do the bottoms...the surface area for 5 sides of a 12x12 box would be 720 sq inches (5 sq ft) per box. So you would probably need a good 756 sq inches of paper per box (This measurement is usually on the packaging. I hope that helps.

How big is the glitter paper? And where did you get the washee tape and stencils?
@SimplyLavish8 жыл бұрын
I used both 8.5x11 and 12x12 just based on color availability. You can get washi tape at any craft store; I got mine from Joann Fabric. The stencil, I don't recall, I already had them. Store's like Michael's, Joann Fabrics, or Hobby Lobby would have most of the material you need.

@brendamorrissette42927 жыл бұрын
Do I have to put something inside the box so it won't be to light?
@SimplyLavish7 жыл бұрын
I use old 12x12 floor tiles (I thought I mentioned in the video) they fit nicely in a box that size, are inexpensive even if you don't just have some lying around, and add just enough weight to stabilize them without making them heavy. If you were to use them outside I would double or triple up though.
