I've discovered that light tank players get screamed at in chat more than arties do. Especially when you're the only one. It's mostly a thankless job, and half of the team become armchair light tank experts. Patience is priceless in this game, so many light players die in the first 2 min. Especially on city style maps, cause they just go to another match with another light tank, hoping to get an open field map like this one. This was one of those perfect games light players dream about. Great vid my fellow 60 something club member lol.

The lesson from the second game is that there are certain maps where a winning pushing team who lost their light tank absolutely cannot win (at best draw), because the other team's light tank (unless a muppet) only needs to light up the incoming attackers who will never manage to cross the open swath of land before the campers hiding in the bushes on the red line take them out. The attacking team is like Lee at Gettysburg in those cases.

Claus - At the beginning I thought you were pulling our leg with a fubared game load. Three minutes into the "battle" and there was no sign of the enemy team. I thought you were going to say, "Gotcha! There IS no enemy team." Then I looked close at the green team and realized the matchmaker made up an almost all TD match. When three of the four lights exploded before the 5 minute mark I saw what was coming; all that was left was mostly blind TDs and one hungry scout.

Russian and French lights are best IMO just don’t tell Pierre 😂. Just concentrate on saving your hp thru mid game to carry at end, believe me it’s lost me a few games that I could’ve carried but the early hp lost came back to haunt me. SteelGutsTN, whirls, and oooBruceoo all have great KZbin videos on light tank spotting and gameplay. If you can swing an ELC Even90 it’s the perfect passive spotting trainer and credit maker IMO. LT432 is a more aggressive gameplay tank. Any questions please let me know good luck buddy

one of my biggest problems is that i get antsy and shoot bc i am given a great side shot and i want to track the enemy so i get the tracking assist damage. I am getting better at just staying silent and letting my team mates kill them. I need to pay closer attention as to how close they are to me as to when it is safe for me to shoot and remain undetected.Excellent commentary Claus keep it up mate i love the vids

I agree with your observations about Lights having a high Win Rate. My lights are some of my best tanks. I'm not a great Light player by any stretch of the imagination, but I know the fundamentals and that can make all the difference. That first game...beautiful!!!!! I think LTs are the hardest class to play. That's why I DON'T PLAY THEM but I have a lot of respect for the guys that do. I'm just an arty player. No thinking required, just gotta know which of your team mates need help the most. Have fun on the battlefield everyone🖤

That was a great example how to counter enemy scouts on Prochorovka. Give them time to come closer, then yolo forward, sproxyspot them and escape through low ground. If team is decent, they will make quick work of stationary enemy light tank before he can even move.

Your videos are awesome. I love your thought process while watching other players. I'm glad that you pointed out that playing light tank takes more thought than the other tanks. I've been getting much better at not YOLOing my light tank, even when my team starts to fall way behind. I am much more patient until I KNOW that there is no hope to win. It sucks sometimes though, because I try to be patient almost every game, but bad teammates force me to adjust my play on the fly. I've had TD's or other large tanks push me out of my spots while I'm spotting, which makes it very difficult for my play style. I was messaging another player the other day because he pushed me out of my bush intentionally and then said that I sucked. I had spotted 2 tanks and got a cheap shot for over 300 dmg against a medium, and they still had not spotted me. I died because as soon as I was sliding down the hill, I was spotted, and 3 or 4 enemy tanks were just waiting for that opportunity to destroy my little XM551. This game is unforgiving when it gives you terrible teammates.

It is good having a rabbit to. the rabbit is the complementary of the spoter: it forces the enemies to shoot and them let the spoter spots better and doing this the line of fire simply massively eliminates the enemies.

I have 3 Light tanks Lt-432 10 games (front line only) a BlackDog 3 games (Front Line) and a ELC Even 90 0 games (had it 6 months) Not a Light Tanks player *shrug* Guess I should learn how to play them :) Just not a patient person its hard for me to sit still and even Harder not to shoot if its right in front of me lol Maybe I'll try to learn after Christmas month... Games this month are CRAZY !! and 90% last 3-4 minutes and are 15 to1,2,3 .. Thanks Video and Advice :)

I'm more of a medium driver but a good spotter can be the most valuable player. Funny thing, my personal best spotting score was in my tiger 1, no kidding, 1600 spotting assist

I'm really enjoying the British Covenanter light tank at tier V, its underrated (crap tank in real life though) as many reviews say its not very good but I've really enjoyed it, I prefer to actively scout and most spotting is incidental but it has a nice gun on it and I've taken out KV-1s with it one on one circling around them

At the EU server it's different to be a Light. If you have masses of Russians in your team than they won't shoot at what was spotted. They begin playing when the Western European Light is dead.
