My wife-to-be just sent me this song. At first I did not want to open it. I was in the music scene in particular in the 1980's when Tina Turner had released Private Dancer and was to Tour Australia. As a former Rugby League player and supporter for life, this song was released in Australia to promote the Winfield Cup Rugby League Competition in New South Wales, and was a duet between Tina Turner and a man whom I have met who is an Australian Rock Music Legend, no other way to describe Jimmy Barnes - as a rock artist he is Simply The Best, one of a special group of artists we have all grown up with who are pinnacle performers. So was I reluctant to open it, yes. But, I am glad I did, it is a beautiful rendition of a rock song. And Can I imagine my lady saying those things to me, and making me feel tens of feet tall, I can, and I love her so very much, and love her for this gift to me from her, so special. My lady is an American so has no knowledge of the history of this song, I will tell her that this is a song a generation of people living in Australia grew up listening to and loving, partying and being with friends, some of whom are no longer with us, Michael Gudinski, thanks Michael. And to my lady Maria Jennifer, we will marry, and I will love and adore you, and at the end of my life which I pray is long, and comes before yours, I would in the Sight of God, love you to know I will try every day to ensure you are as Happy as can be, and at my life's end I pray I will have been to you - simply the best you could have ever wanted any Lover, Husband, and Best Friend to be.
