As of tomorrow, it’ll be a week that I’ve been working on taking all my decor down. I finally got all four trees and their ornaments and picks put away. And I’ve been working on all the little knickknacks and such that I sit around. I got the garlands off of my patio door and my dining room window and I decorate those as well. I said the other day it’s almost like and decorating a tree as much as I decorate those. but I do love to do it so much. It just takes me a little longer I’m 73 and the old back, hip and shoulder give me fits from time to time. But like you said, I didn’t decorate it all in one day either. Those days are long gone ha ha. I’m so envious of your rooms to pack your decor away. I don’t have a downstairs and my attic. I don’t even think I’ve ever looked up there. There’s just like a little crawlspace to it in the hallway. I just know years and years and years ago, we had extra Insulation put in there to help with the heat in the cold and I haven’t ever looked up there. So all of many, many, etc tubs, boxes, etc. are in my garage. I have many shelving units out there, but I can still get my car in there, that’s most important to me ha ha. It’s just the one side. Because I decorate for every holiday. My largest ones are probably Christmas, Halloween, Easter, then I would say Thanksgiving and then Valentine’s. Which isn’t as much as the others and of course there’s St. Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July,you know all of those. I don’t really decorate for seasons, so my Easter and spring would be one, as would be usually Thanksgiving and fall. I combine. But I have a lot. My daughter‘s gonna be shaking her head when she has to go through all of that someday, although my two grandsons said that they would do it 💚💙Bless their hearts. Taking down Christmas makes me sad but there's something calming and refreshing about getting all the everyday stuff back in place. Your floral closet is lovely and I love how you store your garlands. Much better than stuffing them in a box

Thank you very much for your peaceful video and sharing how you store everything - you are so very organized ! I love your rooms and beautiful floral storage near attic entrance. My attic is now covered in massive insulation so I am deciding whether to remove half of it so I can access more floor space. I store much in the unfinished basement which is filled with 'stuff' of 35 plus years. I love all your shelving and beautiful vases etc and will purchase the metal shelving unit - thank you, and I am looking forward to your next video of how to decorate for the remainder of winter. My mom is a big decorator. She has a tiny home but she decorates every room. The problem is storage space. She had to have a storage room built in her backyard. The attic idea is great but we live in SE TX and it gets HOOOOTTT. If she hung her garland in there, they'd all melt. She also can't store any plastics in there. She has had shelves built in her garage and set up in her washroom. Plus uses all the closets in the house. She color coded the boxes for each holiday. Red & green for Christmas, orange and brown for fall, pink for Valentines day, turquoise for Easter, blue for 4th of July and solid green for St. Patrick's.

Somehow florals and pastel colors just don't seem to be the vibe I'm going for yet....lol. When I saw your closet with all the flower stems, I really LOL, I have been trying to figure out how to store my stems. Christmas and fall stems are in those sorted totes. But my spring/summer are ever where in the house. My husband would give me the look if I told him I was gonna use the wire shelving to store them. Lol I have totes that are flat and slide under the beds for now. TFS great video and great tips, as well. ❤😊

Hi Amy....is always sad to take the Christmas decorations down, but I love change, so I enjoy changing different colors and themes throughout the house. My hubby set up the attic for me to store my flowers, vases, etc. It looks a lot like yours....our little store lol. I thank you for giving me the idea to store the flowers. Hi Amy, Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing with us how you store your Christmas/All decor. My basement is where we store all our items. I have to share the space with my inhome daycare supplies as well as my daughters toys and keepsakes. She is 17 and I have been instructed to hold onto them until she has a family of her own 🥹 Everything is in totes and labeled and are set up all around the basement in sections. I too decorate my home with winter items, it’s snowy and cold her in Canada until the end of March so spring décor doesn’t make sense yet lol. I’m looking forward to your upcoming videos ♥️

I enjoyed all the wonderful ideas. I like to store the decorations in boxes, labeling them according to the room. Most of the decor has earned a reserved place. The rest are floaters, so I can rotate and change them. At the moment I only finished 2 rooms but the rest are still decorated - to ease our way into the change and get used to it gradually. I store using those zip-up bags in which clothes come in. I look forward to your winter decor. Take care, God bless.

Hi Amy. I was late getting my home decorated this year and after I finished my hubby wound up back in the hospital for the third time since October. So after all my hard work we really didn’t get to enjoy it. He came home this past Saturday and some of the garland was falling down. I haven’t had time to even mess with it because we are giving our daughter a birthday party the 10th. She will be 50 and we have an Elvis impersonator as entertainment. Needless to say I’m a bit behind on my party planning but it’s coming together. We haven’t had snow in three years but guess what. They are predicting it this Friday. Fingers crossed they are wrong like usual. And then on top of all that my sweet mama passed away the day after Christmas. Needless to say my stress limit has almost peaked. This year hasn’t gotten off to a good start. However I’m optimistic that better days are ahead. You are so organized. I’m going to try to use your tips next week when I start I decorating. That way I can see what I’ve got. Excited to see how you decorate your home for winter.

Hi sweet Amy, I really did enjoy this video today. Putting up our Christmas decor is something we all have to do an often dread. I have found just to get started with my mantle first and then I kind of build up some steam to get the rest of it down. Rachel has to help me get the tree down and carry out heavy things. I have tried to pack my bins lighter than I used to so that I will be able to pick them up. WOW. I love seeing how people store their decor and organize it. You are so lucky to have those spaces. I miss some of the larger homes we have lived in. Some had huge basements or finished walk up attics or both! I didn't put up much this year due to moving but I still have things in storage that will be coming here to be stored so I will need to get creative and probably letting some things go. Happy New Year, Amy. I store similar to you. I am so jealous of your decor room. I have a lot of ceramics & glass. Since no basements in California, our bins go up on a roof rack. So I ordered bubble wrap envelopes, large & small, to wrap my breakables in. I use clear plastic shoe boxes to store smaller items & put in my large bins. I bought Christmas wall decor this year & that is going to be a problem. Maybe when I do my closet remodel, I can make a special area for art. I took down Christmas, but keep out some greenery, pinecones, & ceramic houses for winter decor. So I have a winter bin too, but some of my houses I use year round. Enjoy your videos. God bless. ❤

I was a little sad taking all the Christmas decor down, but I'm enjoying my winter home now. There's a calmness about winter decor that is very relaxing. It was a definite 3 day workout taking it all down, whew. You are so blessed to have such awesome storage space. I undecorate by room and have a big bin for each room. I store some greenery hanging and a bin for smaller greenery. Inside and out totalled 13 bins which we stack in our storage room all labeled. Happy new year to you and your beautiful family! ❤

Happy New Year Amy! Oh the snow outside. We were right on the edge of the snow line and only got the sleet. Oh the frigid temperatures and wind chill temps. I have storage problems I have 5 closets that we put in the garage(the plastic ones) it only fits so much even though it had nice Shelves so then I went to bins, but I only have so much floor space with the bins, it was helpful labeling the bins. Now when I shop for new decor I have to think where is it going, I wish I had more more but our tackle for the new year is to clean and declutter the garage on the other side so I can have some more room for my decor.

Taking down Christmas was a chore but I did get it better organized & put out my winter decor. I meant to ask you how you store your Christmas candles. Do they go in the bins with their color - like the red ones in the “red” bin?

I the past, I have stored my garlands in totes. Everything goes back to the attic. I recently saw someone store garland in wreath bags. I think I will use that method going forward. Much easier to get out of the attic.
