HOW TO MAKE SIMPOL TURON WITH CARAMEL GLAZE

It’s hard to beat a classic, and turon is exactly one of those that doesn’t really need to be altered to be well-loved by everyone. Who doesn’t love crispy and golden turon filled with saba bananas and strips of langka. It gets even better with a lovely, yummy caramel glaze. Perfect for merienda or a post-meal treat. Let’s start cooking #SimpolTuronwithCaramelGlaze! 🍌
INGREDIENTS
10 saba bananas, cut into 4 strips each
1/2 cup jackfruit (langka) strips
1/4 cup white sugar
lumpia wrapper
slurry (flour dissolved in water)
cooking oil
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds, for topping
For the caramel glaze:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons rum
1/2 cup white sugar
Kusina Tip
You can replace rum with 6 tablespoons hot water.
