You always want to start the surface cleaner with one side up and you want to get the right tips on the surface cleaner so you don’t etch the top coat on the concrete. @chrisrubio22182 жыл бұрын
Like how ?
@MannyAguilarJr2 жыл бұрын
@@chrisrubio2218 the water pump cools with the flowing water. If you stop the flow by not using the wand or surface cleaner the water is going to go through the built in bypass, for this model, and circulate the water warming it up and getting hot. Heat in the water pump is what wears and destroys pumps. There is a thermal relief valve typically that will expel water from the side of the pump usually when water temperature is 140°F to save the pump. It's best practice if you're not using the water, to clean, to shut off the pressure washer no more than 2 minutes after you stop running water for cleaning. When you get to bigger more commercial set ups they have external bypass valves that can be re-routed to a buffer tank or the ground. So that way when you're not using the water for cleaning then new water still flows through the pump, through the bypass valve and hose, and into the buffer tank therefore keeping the pump cool and not needing to shut off the pressure washer when you're not using it.

It depends on a lot of stuff, if your unloader is all the way open, how much hose you are using and what size tips you are using. Those things can all change the pressure

This is a 20” but you can run a 16,19 or 20 as long as it’s tipped right for the washer. 20 you have to move a little slower but it does work.
@ryanscott90932 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt go above 16 inch surface cleaner for 4gpm cuz it leaves marks very easily

my question or it could be a doubt, the water must be that of the house or you take your tanks, there are people who may not like that they use their water, because of the cost of the bill.
@DustToGloryPW2 жыл бұрын
We’ve washed over 1000 properties and have only brought water for 1, we charge to bring water. Check with your city but typically for a house was a customer may pay an extra $1-5 for the water we use.

Just an fyi man if you're not pulling the trigger on the gun you really should shut the engine off the pump uses the water to cool itself and if it runs without water circulation it will burn up
@DustToGloryPW3 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother, this video is actually from over a year ago I believe. We now have a 6.5 gpm trailer mounted machine with a 330 gallon buffer tank with a bypass. But that’s great advice for newer guys that are just now seeing this video. Appreciate it!
@AjF3929 ай бұрын
With a 4GPM power washer you don't want to go larger than 16" for a surface cleaner to avoid striping, and pretreat the concrete with SH and a surfactant
@DustToGloryPW7 ай бұрын
I used a 20” for 6 months growing my business and it worked great, just a little slower. As long as you have the surface cleaner tipped right it would do just fine. 16-19” would be ideal though I agree
@vegasmech96934 жыл бұрын
You're going to burn up your pump letting it run while you move your cam and comment, recommended max time running is 2 min max idling.
@andyjcoop4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Just getting into commercial work, my machine is on order and arriving soon. Can you clarify your comment if that's ok? Am after as much advice as possible. What your saying is just turn the machine off entirely instead of running the machine on idle?
@Ryan-eo1dw4 жыл бұрын
Andy James 8 think it depends on the engine mate
@jaken55454 жыл бұрын
@@andyjcoop yeah never leave your machine on without squeezing the trigger(more than 2 minutes) it will make your pump overheat and then you will not be able to get any pressure at all (if your machine is direct drive).

@@DustToGloryPW Actually Brent after getting that awesome trailer rig you are good to go. I was just going to suggest putting your own machine together instead of buying complete. Also something small but makes a huge difference is using a proper unloader and not those one piece unloaders. Then either run the unloader bypass to the ground or buffer tank. Never let a unloader discharge right back into your pump it only takes seconds for it to over heat and ruin the seals.
@LimaEchoEchoZz7 ай бұрын
Realistically, on paper this shouldn't work as the machines flow is too low to power the fsc bar fat enough to not leave tiger stripes, good job!!

I believe the pressure washer is too small for that size surface cleaner. I believe the formula to determine the size is 4 inches per every gpm. The maximum size for a 4 gpm pressure washer would be 16 inches max.
@DustToGloryPW3 жыл бұрын
That’s a good rule of thumb to go by, I used that surface cleaner for over a year and it never etched or left zebra stripes. You just have to go a little slower when cleaning concrete. We have a trailer mounted 6.5 gpm hot water machine now with a 19” whisper wash. There’s also alot of guys that run the 19” with 8gpm. It really matters what size tips you run on the surface cleaner not the size of the surface cleaner.
