Funeral for a fiend is actually great, imo. Bob was such a manipulator that he made Bart look like the bad guy and him as a guy who did nothing wrong in front of all Springfield. This is actually a pretty clever commentary on the manipulation of the masses and in the end even Bart started feeling guilty, out of peer pressure. Then we got one of the most chilling one liners in the show. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ3Mp3Rnet18e6M Bart: Now everyone wants me to be in that coffin instead of you! Bob(slowly opens the coffin): Then lets give the people... WHAT THEY WANT!!! Call me edgy, but sideshow bob episodes need to have a dark atmosphere like Cape Feare. I think the trouble with later Sideshow Bob is that there's potential there, but it's buried under the ramped up wackiness. The earlier seasons were good at balancing the tonal differences between seasons with the main point of the story, but the later episodes tend to get too invested in one side which means the actual plot tends to wander off and ends up unsatisfying and just weird rather than funny.

i know i comment this every simpsons histories video but i would like to see kirk. as for sideshow bob, i think the reason he always worked well was because his character was so grounded with a love of the theatrics. post season 8, he's basically a super villain.

With his many many complex scemes Sideshow Bob is by far one of the best villain types of the animation universe.

With Bob's second redemption having happened, I always thought the best angle would be to look at his past instead of resetting him back to villainy once more. There's so many unanswered questions about who Bob was as a person before/during his time on Krusty's show. It's always been heavily implied that he was actually a good person beforehand, and that whatever he experienced working for Krusty sent him down the wrong path.

I kinda agree. The Great Louse Detective would've been a good finale to Sideshow Bob's evil plans.

Sideshow Bob episodes are the few episodes I look forward to with the newer episodes. Also, I'm a little biased because season 5 is my favorite season as a whole and Cape Feare us my favorite episode of all time.

I was going to suggest Kirk for a new Histories video, but I never thought about Shelbyville until you mentioned it. I think that would be really interesting, maybe throw in some stuff about Ogdenville too and or Capital City

12:30 After all of the modern episodes we've gotten with Bob, I think the writers should experiment with having him just be one of the various background characters that shows up from time to time. They could probably get away with recording Grammer's lines once a season to spread across multiple episodes, not unlike what they did with Phil Hartman.

Soon, we’ll have an episode where Sideshow Bob is the one being targeted by a killer when they’re getting stuck for ideas.
@cortomaltese52064 жыл бұрын
Is it bad that I like the idea?
@rayvenkman20874 жыл бұрын
Corto Maltese It’d be interesting to see Sideshow Bob be the one being threatened instead of him being the threat for a change and you could play with the character dynamics that way. It’s how they’ll execute it is my concern.

Maybe Bob discovers someone else is planning to kill Bart and decides to protect him because of both Bob's possessiveness and strange attachment to Bart.

When I was watching the Simpsons on TV at whatever pm every night, I remember loving seeing a new sideshow bob episode. Maybe it's just because of his character, maybe it's because I saw them so far apart. The one where they go to Italy is memorable to me for whatever reason.

I always figured the reason he was banned for life from Comicbook Guy’s store was some pedantic argument about (insert anything Comicbook Guy cares about). Bob was probably technically right as well, and constructed an argument so airtight and perfect that all Comicbook Guy could do in response/retaliation is ban him from the shop.

One of my favorite lines from Bob is his most neutral line but sounds very evil. It's really just his frustration in the episode, but good god it and he sound diabolical: "Sometimes I wish this dam would burst and bury this cursed town."
@SuperGoomba104 жыл бұрын
The Shelbyville suggestion is kind of hilarious to me, mostly because I was literally thinking about that exact possibility myself not too long ago. It's always struck me that Shelbyville actually comes up surprisingly rarely throughout the series considering there's supposed to be such a heated rivalry between the two towns, so I'd be pretty interested to see just HOW often it actually comes up. I'd also be kind of interested in seeing a history of Comic Book Guy. I've always found it interesting that, despite him being introduced as early as Season 2, my impression has always been that it really isn't until around Season 7 that he actually starts to feel like a prominent member of the show's recurring cast. Except, I was re-watching episodes relatively recently and discovered that there are actually at least two separate instances of him having dialogue in Season 5, which makes me highly curious as to just how prominent or... not-prominent he really was between Seasons 2 and 7.
