I recognized the painting in the photo right away. It's near Fili station, a view of Moscow's skyscrapers. I remember driving to college in my first year. In the morning, at 6:00, it was foggy, cold and full of snow. I always determined the station where I had to get off by the view out of the window. At the beginning of spring it was light in the morning, but with the onset of winter the morning became dark, I did not recognize the station and missed it. The train line comes from a village far from the center of Moscow, and the scenery from the window along the way consisted of one-story houses and woods. After my station, there is a long stretch of track going straight into the city center. When I got off the station, expecting to see the usual one-story houses, I saw exactly the same picture in front of me - huge glowing skyscrapers shrouded in fog in the night sky. I stood like that for a few minutes in amazement. Having spent my whole life in the countryside, this was the first time I had ever seen skyscrapers.
