Sims 1
In The Sims 1, you can't own a vehicle, but you need one to actually travel to places. The only air vehicle in The Sims 1 came with The Sims 1: Makin' Magic. If call a cab to visit Magic Town, the Magic Town airship will come to pick you up. Your Sim will teleport inside, and the Magic Town Balloon will fly away. You'll be teleported to the lot you wanted, and the Magic Town Balloon will leave. When you want to leave, you can call a cab. You will be picked up shortly after and transferred back home.
Sims 2
The Sims 2 is the only game in The Sims Franchise that includes a Helicopter. It was first only used as a carpool for some top-level jobs. But With Sims 2: Apartment life, you can now own one. Sims can take it out for a spin, or go visit a community lot. You'll need a helipad, so the helicopter will have a place to land. When you arrive on a community lot, The helicopter will land on the street. With Sims 2 Apartment Life, witches were added to the game. If you become one, you can ride a magic Broom instead of walking.
Sims 3
The Sims 3 is an open world and has a lot of vehicles to choose from. for transportation but also for other fun activities.
The Galaxa Space Car (UFO) was added with Sims 3: Seasons. Sims can use it like a regular car for transportation, or they can uprgade it to have more fun. Sims can abduct a Sim that they have met. And for a really fun time, prepare to do a Community lot invasion.
Hot air balloons are a premium content that came with Aurora Skies. Aside from transportation, Sims can use it to enjoy a day of sightseeing. They can also drink bubbly champagne while in the air. the Hot Air Balloon is also a WooHoo spot. Jetpacks were added with Sims 3: Into The Future. You can fly around with them. Hoverboards and Hovercars were also added with Sims 3: Into The Future. Sims will travel around town riding a hoverboard instead of walking. With The Sims 3: Supernatural, brooms were added to the game. They are also a fast form of transportation.
Sims 4
There are few types of vehicles Sims can fly with In The Sims 4 .
Sims 4 added a new type of objects called a rocket ship. With Sims 4: Get to Work, Sims have now a an option to install a Wormhole Generator. Sims will get inside the rocket ship and travel to a secret planet.
With the The Sims 4: Realm of Magic, spellcasters can fly on variety of magic brooms . With The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu, few well know types of space shuttles were added in the gameplay, connected with various missions. But you can also obtain them using the: bb.showhiddenobjects cheat.

The Makin’ Magic air balloon will always be my favorite! I love the music it comes with and I always let it fully play out before clicking okay on the pop up.

Sims 3 definitely won this one with how much vehicles it has, the fact that you can move around freely with them because of the open world, and the amount of interactions that come with each one. Also love how you can cause chaos with the UFO. Sims 4 comes in second with how you can discover an entire planet with the rocket and how you can teleport around with the broomstick, didn't really like how everything else went through text adventures though. Sims 2's air vehicles just felt like cars that could fly since you can't really do much with them other than travel to community lots or use them as carpools. However I did love the interactions that came with the Helicopter and the details it had. Unfortunately Sims 1 only had one air vehicle and it was only used to get to Magic Town, however as always, this is the first game so it's very obvious that the later games will do things better. Sims 3 > 4 > 2 > 1

Love the breakdown, and totally agree, The Sims 3 has done the most with the air vehicles! However, I wish there were helicopters too, to have some more realistic vehicles beside the hot air balloon. If it had helicopters, there would be no contest.

In Sims 3, broomsticks can be used by anyone, not just witches, or spellcasters, like in Sims 2 and 4. And it's real fun to see a werewolf or a vampire on a broomstick 😁 And there are also kids variations, which is totally cool. Sims 3 ITF also added hoverbikes for both adults and kids. And for kids they are the fastest form of transportation they can have. Even faster than some basic cars. And that's why I love them. For adults, they make less sense, but for kids, these hoverbikes are great. Going on them to school, your Simkiddies are immediate envy of the others 😁 And hoverboards are the easiest way to get advanced technology IMO. Anyway, just for the variety, Sims 3 is clear winner for me.

I honestly feel like "Journey to Batu" was targeted towards absolutely nobody. Sims fans probably won't like it because it's so far out of the realm of what a Sims game should be. On top of that, Star Wars fans probably won't like it because the Sequels are the least popular of the Star Wars trilogies.

Yeah. To these days, I am of an opinion that if they made Batu a family theme park lot you can visit with your Sim families and enjoy your day off on a Star Wars themed rides, it would be way better than what we got.

My theory is that EA did Batuu as a tie-in to the Hollywood Studios area. If you look at the game map and a map of the park area, the layout is about the same. I think it was a publicity thing.

It was very much a cash grab (a bad one considering lack of audience) but still a grab. I can only guess it was geared more towards younger, new Star Wars audiences who have only seen the sequels since EA seems to be taking Sims down a very family friendly route. I do have to admit though, I like the DLC for the build objects. I mostly only build, so as a sci-fi fan it's actually really useful. ...and I never buy EA games so that makes it less annoying on me lmao

🤣In The Sims 1, it goes up frame by frame very slowly. Like, "Ready or not, here I come." TS2: With the helicopter, it's like GTA, just land on the street, no questions asked. Imagine if they left a parking ticket on the window. TS4: Space ships and rockets.

Although I do find the balloon carnival music fun in TS2, the helicopter in TS2 is detailed well and the ability to land on another planet in TS4, TS3 just has so many more that were not shown in this video, ergo it wins 1st place for me❣ TS3:ITF also has hover scooters, hover cars, The Zephyr, hover taxis (all NPC service vehicles are all hover vehicles) too. Also, Sims can woohoo on The Zephyr and while flying on the jetpack. In TS3:ST Genies float to destinations. Aside from brooms in TS3:SN, sims can fly around on vacuum cleaners, and Fairies can fly (even in pixie form, when playing with werewolves, doing repairs or entering their fairy houses). Fairies can use their pixie dust so other Sims can fly temporarily too (a nice little nod to Tinkerbelle of Peterpan)❣

Sims 2 also introduced superhero flying to work (I forgot which career it was) - they would just change clothes & go up like Superman or Spiderman Also Sims 2 brooms seem waaay more cool than Sims 3 ones Sims 4 spaceships are somehow too large & too detailed for the game, like they dont belong there.... I guess my fave would be helicopter, its also the only vehicle which can be placed on any floor

Sunset Valley was used, but when the Sims were getting engaged it was Dragon Valley for some reason. Overall, the alien spaceship came with Seasons, the Hot Air Balloon with Aurora Skies (both Standard and Gold), the broomsticks with Supernatural and the rest with Into the Future.
