Fun fact, if you do a cheat to add the technophobe trait, then for Decades challenge in old days, they will never use their phones, for late 1800s a phonograph or a Victrola is ok, but the weird old looking Ipod player the Sims includes kind of breaks old decade immersion.

I recently started my own challenge, it took me days to prep because I was so pic-nicky about every little detail XD I have three main households going, the Dennisons ( the middle class main main household), The Herths ( the lower class widow with twin boys), and the Diamonds (the high class rich girl with her dad) I'm so excited to see how they go because I'm READY for drama

Slavery was abolished in 1865 however people of colour were still discriminated against, and therefore had very limited job opportunities. It’s possible a maid would have been of colour, depending on how open minded the employer was.
