it keeps surprising me how realistic the sims university experience is. staying in the library until 1am, the mess of finding the right buildings, being happy you're only 20 minutes late to a 1 hour class, working on your presentation last minute and forgetting to eat, constantly doing homework on the floor, the cram sessions with a single person just moving the materials around, being constantly angry at everything, neglecting all your needs and relationships... it's too realistic if you ask me.

I was playing it while being a university student and my sim somehow ended up smelly and passed out in the student union at 3 AM working on an assignment and I just had to stop. It hurt how close to home it felt.

I didn't go to university, but it still represents community college well too if you live the off campus 😭 Except I spent most of my time not home and at the library, because my home was too noisy for me to even begin to concentrate on my work. I was always rushing to finish projects, juggling between 2 jobs and 4 classes in college (4 separate days too) and trying to have a social life to not lose my mind...then COVID hit and I didn't take any more classes because I didn't want to do online college. It was my second time at college after a several year break so, overall too stressful anyways.

I always have at least my legacy heir finish uni and it's a pain in the ass but sooo fun and pretty realistic if you ask me, but a MUST is turning on long life span while they do it and then I put it back to normal when they graduate.

I love that April has both Carefree and Emotional Control reward traits, but High Maintenance just completely takes over. Poor April. I don't think anyone would mind if April had a 'self discovery' and swapped it for another trait

If you want more sims to come to the student union, you can create a club that has that lot as their set hangout spot. You don't need to add your own sims to the club, just make a random townie or classmate the head of it and add some other students. That way, whenever you visit the lot, a club gathering will start and the members will hang out there. You could even add studying, ping-pong playing, and robot building to the activities so that the club members do student-related stuff. That would make the lot feel more alive and popping.

It really is crazy how quickly you can level skills in university. I had my Sim take an elective in Horseback Riding for a single semester, and by the end she was over halfway through level 4 without ever having laid eyes on a real horse XD

University is one of my favorite expansions, I don't even mod the dorms to have kitchens or food. I DO however pause aging, so I can stick to only taking three courses a year without feeling stressed.

I’m playing with University right now & the social bunny has made it so much more fun for me. 😂 My sim joined a club, where she met her woohoo partner. Social bunny had other plans.😂 So that made things awkward. But my sim graduated university, now lives in an apartment with her athlete FIANCÉ. My sim asked univiserty friends to be in the wedding. I’m having fun!!

The reason your Sims couldn't put books away in the library is because of a bug with the new backpack functionality from the SDX drop. For some reason if you have a backpack anywhere on a library lot, Sims cannot put library books away. I think it affects home lots, too, but that I can't confirm because the bug report on the EA forums specifically mentions library books. But I have some backpacks in my teens' room on their home lot and since the drop, my Sims haven't been able to put books away.

I've been playing university with my heir alongside this series and omg it may be the most challenging expansion pack in the entire game? Even though my sim has a TON of bonus traits from growing up he still struggles to get all of his homework and projects done (in addition to the esports team which takes up his entire evening). If I had the realistic student loan mod it might be too much, lol. Thank you for suffering with us, Kayla!

I've been thinking of a different reno challenge... take any EA house, keep all the furniture & walls. You can repaint 2 rooms, no flooring, you can move & recolor existing furniture (paint/reupholster/stain). You can buy no more than 10 items for the house, all must be under $100 - like plants, rug, paintings, curtains. I thought it's pretty easy to do an amazing renovation when you've got lots of money... what if you are on a fixed income? Can you make it at least a little better... I'm gonna try it.

University literally takes all your Sims time and even your real time. It's the toughest pack as far as getting your Sims to succeed but worth it in the end because they end up earning more once they graduate and get a job.

It's so interesting to me to listen to or read someone telling their experiences with American universities, cause in Brazil, it's completely different. It's not common (it happens, ofc) to move out of the parents house to go to college, dorms aren't really a thing, just in cases where people are from others cities or states, and it's more like university housing instead of dorms. And the majority of people will go to Public Universities, and the public ones are like Ivy League, not private ones (that are exceptions, obviously). Me, for example, I went to a private university that only give degrees in Health related courses (that sentence came out weird 😂), I lived in my parents house until graduation And fraternities and sororities are not a thing around here

I love how lilsimsie takes the blame for the incompetent programming from Maxis. The sims have bikes, they won't use them to go thirty feet, but they use them to go to the other side of a house the size of twenty by twenty. They will drive the bikes through the buildings. They lose the bikes, then a player has to spend hours looking for them, a lot of the time having no success, then I have to repurchase the bikes. Then every once in a while, the old bikes show up on the lot. The transportation was badly thought-out to the point of being frustrating rather than useful or fun. The catamaran is the worst. The sims won't get off of them, they get stuck in a programming loop that they can't get out of.

I noticed a glitched with university that while staying in dorms or university housing it will charge you bills from the household your sim came from. You pay for housing when you sign up for term so you shouldn’t be paying bills on top of that

I’m imagining there is a special place in hell where it’s sims 4 where you are a single mom with 7 infants, on her period, hold a full time job, and a full time sims 4 university student… all while the game is lagging. And you have to keep all of their needs at yellow or higher at all times and they have to max out all of the infant/toddler skills and you have to have straight As ever day and work hard every day at work. And if any of those things don’t happen you have to completely start over.

Wellness fixes the high maintenance buffs... My NSB Gen 4 and 5 did rock climbing together as a Father/Daughter activity from the time 5 was a teen. It was a grind to get high enough to make it to the summit and 4 was an elder by the time they made it, but it was so worth it.

Right, but the part where if you register for university on a Sunday (right after spawning in game) it makes you start classes on tuesday. But if you register for classes on a weekday, you can start classes the next day. Sends me into rage every time.

I've had a sim die from rock climbing when I was playing with a different household. I was so pissed lol she had no skill and probs tried to climb my komorebi without any skill, but I never found her urn, luckily I was able to add her back to the household so I can hang with her ghost for spooky story reasons 😂

If you don't change the on campus housing, you dont pay bills. If you build/buy change the buildings before moving in, the bills are HIGH.
