Simulate a nuclear explosion in London to calculate the estimated number of deaths that would result. Using data from leading researchers and highlighting modern technological developments, the film illustrates the very real danger that nuclear weapons still pose to humanity and life on Earth.

The most absurd assumption in these events is that there would be hospital functions at all. Who is going to clock in and work at the hospital. Who will get a paycheck? What government would even exist after nuclear war? The minute nuclear weapons detonate, everyone is on their own. There are no police, no military aid, no hospital, no jobs, just everyone trying to survive alone.

Everything you said sounds awesome though. Imagine no government, no cops, no modern woke military, no wage slaving. Just total freedom. I think the only people who don't want something like this are the entrenched well off who will lose absolutely everything in the situation. But the general public has nothing much to lose. If a nuke went off in my nearest major city and I didn't get deleted or radiated by it, I can only imagine improvements to my life. Everything that is currently making my life awful would be gone. We'd also be able to put so many dumb ideas to the test. We'd put equality to the test and see who's really equal and who is superior, who is inferior and what types of people are parasites and truly need others to leech off. It would basically unstuck humanity from this never ending cultural quagmire of the cultural war which everyone endlessly argues about, but no one is ever allowed to put anything to the test of prove anything because too many people would fear the results. So they want an endless limbo of uncertainty. I'm sick of that, and I also don't want to own nothing. So why not just let Bill Gates land get nuked? It's not mine. Why would I care if some rich billionaire mega property owner had all of his land nuked and irradiated. Not my problem.

Wouldn't need more than 1 . The UK would cease to exist a political entity if central London ceased to exist (and when I say central the entire city would cease to economically function if the centre went). The political tensions would utterly tear the country apart . There isn't the military or police to enforce martial law and you would just get local warlords taking over. Wales and Scotland would attempt to run themselves but there is nothing whatsoever culturally uniting England This doesn't apply to to other countries but London is the the UK economy and not just central political centre the only real discussion making body of any importance

@andydoney5581 13 күн бұрын
@@freemenofengland2880 Yes you are correct about the fact that 2 are in refit while others are in service. However, I don't agree that Russia would launch at nuke armed countries unless there is a first nuclear strike. Former aides of Putin have gone on record as saying that listed targets of Russia in the first instance of NATO conventional aggression would be countries like Holland, Sweden, Poland etc, all the countries that do not have independent nukes. I don't think that NATO would put boots on the ground in Ukraine unless a NATO country was attacked in the first place. But the fact still remains that if we die, millions of Russians will also die by UK nukes, and that's a fact. Unless Starmer is in power and shits himself of course. But of course, as you say, Russia would retaliate to a pre-emptive strike by the West. You would expect that as it would be a fair enough response. But I think a pre-emptive strike is highly unlikely, any response to Russian escalation would be conventional in the first instance.

A good point, but normally a planner would space them out by distance and time, so that you don't have fratricide between the weapons. A minute or two ought to be enough. So you might have a target array ABCDABCDABCD, where the three A targets get hit at once, then the three C targets, then the three B targets, then finally the three D targets. Also, targets are usually hit from south to north in a given area, again, to avoid fratricide. Not that much matters how much your rubble bounces while you are being incinerated - it's just that military types like to optimize things for maximum effect.

Fairly accurate, approximately the right yield and right target location. But it'd be an airburst 1.69km high, and there'd be negligible local fallout.

The Poseidon (Russian: Посейдон, "Poseidon", GRAU index 2M39, NATO reporting name Kanyon), previously known by Russian codename Status-6 (Russian: Статус-6), is an autonomous, nuclear-powered unmanned underwater vehicle reportedly in production by Rubin Design Bureau, capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear warheads.[1][5][6] The Poseidon is one of the six new Russian strategic weapons announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1 March 2018.[7] . Poseidon is a completely new category of weapon. It will reshape naval planning in both Russia and the West, leading to new requirements and new counter-weapons. A weapon which cannot be nullified with anti-missile defenses. In future nuclear tensions, if we live through this one, it will be a strong factor.

There is an error in your video. Airbursts, that is, nuclear weapons detonated high in the air to maximize the blast radius and hence the damage, generate little or no radioactive fallout. In a general nuclear war, most civilian centres will be subjected to airbursts, unless multiple hardened, underground bunkers for government and military use are present in those cities. In which case, groundbursts will be used to destroy these facilities.

This video presumably simulates a thermonuclear (fusion) bomb, in which case the radiation would be even less. A fission-based bomb on airburst, on the other hand, might generate more fallout than that, but still as you say less than a groundburst. Either way, this video is crap.

I’m not 1000% sure but I’m pretty sure the fallout of modern nukes are far less then what the first atom bombs were. To the point it’s not even that big a deal anymore. Your biggest problem is that they are much much more devastating blast wise and heat wise. You’re more likely to die of burns than radiation afterwards.

Yeah, I heard that most nukes nowadays are hydrogen/fusion bombs which are less renowned for fallout, plus if they're airburst, even less so. Instead they cause enormous devastation through the energy released.

Since there seem to be a lot of thermonuclear/hydrogen bomb nukes around, fallout might not be so much. The blast itself and the resulting fireball, fires and shockwaves would do most of the damage. None of which of course helps at all.
