In this demonstration we will watch and learn how to do an End-to-End Anastomosis.

An anastomosis is the joining of two normally opposing things. Anastomosis is a medical term that refers to a link between two blood vessels (arteries or veins) or two intestinal loops. An anastomosis can form naturally in the body or be surgically constructed.
An artificial connection created by a surgeon is known as a surgical anastomosis. When an artery, vein, or portion of the intestine is blocked, this procedure may be used. It can also be used to treat a tumor in the intestine. In a process known as resection, a surgeon will remove the obstructed area. The two remaining sections will be anastomosed (connected) and stitched or stapled together.

thanks for sharing this video doctor. why were you suturing the mesenter last of the video? if we want do anostomosis with endo-gia, will we do this with 60' or 80' endo-gia? and is blue or purple? and why? and how we decision mesenteric and antimesenteric borders of the intestine?

How would you take second layer of sutures on posterior layer as mesentry will be there??

Hello Rahul, The second layer of sutures are along the antimesenteric border.

Think some correction needed in voice over at end of posterior layer suturing.. esp wrt to the Connell stitch..

11:40 onwards. It's outside in and then inside out once the needle is pushed out after locking the last posterior layer suture. Not trying to demean anyone, I do single layer extramucosal with zero percent complication.. really appreciate.. Thanks for the informative video. Excellent teaching resource..
