I am 3rd generation Irish living in the US and converted to Islam 8 years ago Alhoumdulilah I feel such a strong connection with Sinead as I listened to her and followed her life since I was young. When she became Muslim I cried and now I cry again to hear she had a janaza. May Allah give her the Jennah Al Ferdous and give her peace in her grave May the Prophet be the next person she sees inshaAllah Ameen ﷺ

I’m an Irish revert. Before when I saw Sinead o Connor converted to Islam I thought.. oh she’s lost. Then 2 years later I converted to Islam and the irony is you’re not lost choosing Islam but found. 😍 She was such a wise woman and inspiration. I felt very sad when I heard the news of her passing.

Irish guy in Iraq here. Sinead was a hero of mine since 1987, and when she decided to embrace Islam she didnt receive any negative feedback from her true friends. They respected her decision. And I know Dr Umar, he's a gentleman and scholar. A good guy. So I am glad that Sinead reached out to him specifically. Honestly, Sinead's family, friends and adoring fans all supported her decision. No mushkilla. Thanks for these few videos discussing these points. Shukran very much.

I am third generation Irish, living in the United States. I became Muslim 30 years ago. My story started in a small Masjid with a group of people that I was interested in speaking with and learning more about Islam from. I too was in a similar plight to discover a true religion and studied from my mother and father's two different religions Catholicism and Protestant. I looked into the "born-again" to find out what that was all about. I went to baptist churches however, not one of them made sense out of the other. I found there to be so many different interpretations of how religion should be represented and was seeking the truth most of my youth and teenage years. In the interim I didn't hear much about this long until I was in my mid-twenties. What I discovered was immediately everything started making sense. Islam is the only true religion and we are born this way. We were meant to be a believer in one God. Although Allah gives us free will, Allah knows ultimately the choices that people will make. With Allah's infinite wisdom, we have to believe and have faith that there is a divine wisdom behind our earthly path along with the calamities that everyone will face.

I agree, there is definitely something special about the Irish people and Ireland. I truly believe that the trauma and oppression their ancestors have experienced eg the British occupation, the potato famine, the northern Irish war etc, has imprinted compassion and open mindedness in the souls of so many Irish people.

From God we come and to God we will return! As a revert for almost 30 years its my experience although we were not born into non-muslim families, But reverts are so very passionate, and knowledgable about our religion. We change our entire lives. For me I lost the support of my birth family, and friends but I gained far more than I ever lost. Reverts choose this way of life because we see its the right choice. My in-laws used to say “dont ask her, she is only a revert” but after talking to me I quickly gained their respect as I lead my life according to the sunnah, not traditions and based on culture. I broke the toxic chains of my bath family while continuing to respect them although they hate my religion. Seeing my adult children read the Quran in arabic, wear hijab, have muslim spouse and stand along side of me and are active in our community. Now my in-laws come to me when they want to know answers to life problems based on the Sunnah. Even after I divorced their own brother, we still have a great relationship because I reverted for myself and not for my marriage, Actually I divorced based upon the father of my children had stopped practicing islam. I have much respect for any revert, as we change our lives completely to what we were taught prior to becoming muslim.

Many, many thanks to her family for honoring her right as a Muslim woman for a burial that's appropriate with her choice of faith. As a Muslim woman myself living in the West, I was deeply touched and heartened to learn of how well treated and integrated my community in there with the rest of the Irish society, so huge shoutout to the Irish people and government! This situation should be a case study for other countries, Western and Eastern alike, with a sizable Muslim population who do not perhaps enjoy the same relationship dynamics and/or rights. Sending healing prayers to sister Sinead's family, friends and fans in Ireland and the world over!

I honestly wasn't worried about her funeral. I believed that her family would prepare an islamic funeral. It was just that the funeral wasn't for public because her family needed privacy, which is understandable. I had that positive feeling because I could feel that she is LOVED by everyone in Ireland. Muslims or non muslims, believers or atheists. I believed people would respect her choice of being a muslim. I was in Waterford when she passed away and everyone I met in Ireland said good things about her. Glad to hear this anyway, alhamdulillah.

After learning about her upbringing my heart ached for the pain she suffered. And that she could be forgiving. I kept thinking how I would have loved to been mother like or a good friend. Being famous has no bearing on my thoughts. I think Allah saved her from all interruptions of sinful ways that may have attempted to guide her away. Allah is so good and knows what is best for us. May Allah be forgiving and reward her with Jannah in the grave.

So true about the Irish been subjected to hostility in the uK during the 1970s,1980s . I was questioned several times when I entered UK by police because I hold an Irish passport . We were made to feel ashamed and anxious to speak out loud with our Irish accents . Police and much of the general public were suspicious of you during those times when the IRA were active. I wasn't even a fan of hers as an artist but was intrigued and awed by her conversion when she accepted Islam 5 years ago and was saddened by her death. The core idea of our faith is to believe in only one God and that Muhammad is one of Allah, and if we comply with this statement through our lives we will be rewarded Paradise. I, myself have an Irish background, my mother came from Kildare Ireland. My early life was lived in London then Essex. The Irish people faced many trials of abuse by the church then they fled to Britain. My brother Malachy received a letter from a lawyer in England stating that because my mother had died and the case of her wanting an apology from the Irish government was not going to happen. Many of the Irish who were forced to flee to another country for their lives, they entered Britain to live. My mother did not want their money, she wanted an apology from them. All we have to do is look at the history and even today many people are fleeing their countries because of oppressive rules. Sinead was a very strong lady and her quest for the truth gave her power and understanding . May Allah (swat) reward her. Ameen

God created man for eternal life. But when Adam ate of the tree, he/ mankind got separated from the Source of Life , which brought into creation,sin suffering death and eternal separation, the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good/ evil. The wages of sin is death and nothing we do can return life back into us. That’s why Life Himself Jesus Christ veiled His Divinity in flesh to come as a man , not from mortal Adam of sin nature, to take OUR death upon Himself, destroy its power by His resurrection, to make us a new creation, born of The Spirit for righteousness unto eternal life. In short, without His Life Giving Spirit indwelling us , we have no eternal life

Alhamdulillah by the will & mercy of Allah she got her Muslim funeral (Janazah), what a great ending for someone who willingly chose to believe in the One & Only God, Almighty Allah, whenever i saw our sister Shuhada Sadaqat in her interviews as a Muslimah with a Hijab she always unapologetically & proudly shared her faith with millions and made sure to let everyone know that Islam is the Truth and how it changed her life. May Almighty Allah have mercy on her & forgive all her sins, and grant her the highest Paradise, al-Firdaws, Allahuma ameen.

Asalam Alakium Waramotullahi Wabarakatu ,Thanks so much for sharing good news with us, May Allah SWT forgive our Sister sins, save her from the punishment of the grave and grant her AlJannah Firduas Ameen Ya Rabb. MashaAllah that our Shaykh was able to explain to the family about the importance of Janaza prayer.Kudos to the family for granting our Sister funeral rites to have a Janaza prayer .Alhamdullahi Rabbi Alamin, our Sister was buried according to Islamic rites. He or she who Allah guides, no one can misguide, He or she who is misguided none other than Allah SWT guides.May Allah SWT make it easy for our Sister family and humanity to seek for knowledge in our beautiful Deen and reverting to Islam Ameen Ya Rabb. May Allah SWT bless our brothers and sisters propagating our beautiful Deen in this world and Hereafter Ameen Ya Rabb. Jazakallahu Khairan.
