I never usually cry when celebrities died because well... It's easy to put the emotional distance behind the art and screen.. meant yes I'm attached to or certain aspects that their persona my portray... And I'm a support things they did society or something... However literally boo-hooing for the loss here with her... The things she faced in life early on... Her struggles with mental health... And just how she bleeds her heart out everytime she opens her mouth to sing... There was nothing held back by her ever... She was passionate... Extremely caring... Troubled... And every day was a struggle for her and she put her heart and soul into everything she touched... I struggle with certain aspects of my life as well and I can't help but to weep because life is hard we make it beautiful every chance we get every... Sharing our pain or weakness in our struggle opens up for criticism judgment and backlash from people I have felt that before people have hurt me physically for crying over being emotionally vulnerable... She was truly special in every song I've ever listened to her do was very genuine... She was never diva... And her version of Elton John's "no sacrifice" truly moves my heart in ways no other piece of music could. Sing my angel...sing! My name is Steven rickerson and I'm posting under my partners account. The way you regard this piece of music I figure you would appreciate this.

At times the beauty of this is so overwhelming I have to put my hands over my face and cry so hard. There really are no words to adequately capture what Sinead's otherworldly voice does to me. You live a thousand experiences in just one note, one breath, one quivering crescendo from her. The visual of her fluttering eyelids as the emotions of this song course through her every note...tears stream down my face uncontrollably.... she sings the aching human experience , she sings the voice of the universe....the totality of life's tremendous beauty and suffering, the heights of passion and the shadows of bitter loss.....the soft, the loud. The grace. The trauma. It's all here..her voice commands for us to FEEL. Love you so much Sinead💜

Wow, I wrote that comment almost three months before Sinead left us. At the time, I couldn’t hear enough from her, listened to her constantly, an obsession that seemed to come from out of the blue. Sinead O’Connor had a HUGE role in both mending the troubles between England and Ireland, Sin Fein being officially acknowledged as a legitimate and peaceful group, but most of all, exposing the abuse of Catholic children all over the world, the blind eye and collusion of the pope and Vatican City. Sinead! You literally changed the course of Catholicism! Lastly, I’d like to say that the public should get up off the “nothing compares 2u”, and take themselves higher by exploring her earlier work, which by far the most important. Start with “Famine”. 100% my favourite version of this song. Sinaed's beautifully haunting voice, delivered with such raw emotion that rocks like a cradle in a wind blown tree from vulnerable to throat choking pain conveys the beauty in the words in a way that Elton's singing was unable to deliver IMO.

Ummm...the music is Elton s ..the words are Bernie Taupin s.

This hurts me. One of the most emotionally intense performances I've ever heard.

I've never gotten over this cover by Sinead...it's on my all-time list and I need it now and then. Haunting & relevant for most of us.

I know Sinead by "nothing compares"... And only that song... Decided to do a you tube search on her tonight... And My God!... Why wasn't she promoted like all the other singers... Absolute brilliance... Can seriously not get enough of her voice... Someone said in these comments Elton John wrote the song not knowing he actually wrote it for Sinead... He does is justice.... She perfects it... Well done

Because she spoke out about abuse in the catholic church

I don't think Elton John ever wrote anything memorable. He wrote the music and Bernie wrote all of the lyrics.

Because she was too troubled, and “rebellious” for the music industry. Her war vs the catholic church didn’t help either. Watch her “behind the music” doc, its on youtube. But seriously, one of the greatest voices EVER.

I have goosebumps, lump in my throat, and tears in my eyes each time when I hear her singing this song. Her beautiful voice and her beautiful face, both, that's absolute perfection.

I think St stephen's green in Dublin should have a statue of Sinead o'connor. Anyone agree with me?
