Well basically, while the world is in a deep food shortage, japan makes artifical food that become too out of control and causes chaos in the process and the Us decides to crowd control them. Achi tests Saki and his girl to prepare to fight alien invaders while using artificial food(ruffians/monsters) power as a base to revive the dead(Saki and some select rebel forces). Saki is also the inheritor of earth and he is the one to be its protector against the invaders. That's basically the whole story

+Wegra Saki and Airan have been selected by Achi to assist her with defeating an "enemy", she's basically a powerful false prophet and has been telling select people about this being that "must be destroyed". Brad, Achi's ex partner was given her blood in hopes that he would help her, but he turned on her used the powers to research the current threat deeper. He gave his blood to other people, you kill all of them. Saki is infected with the blood after he is submerged into that pool of blood, he gains the power to turn into a giant robot, but he can't control it unless someone is holding onto his heart, that's were Airan becomes relevant, because she's nasty enough to do it.

Very old comment, but to elaborate further. The world is struggling with a great famine, and food is very hard to find. Japan comes up with a solution, and creates ruffians as a food source. Of course, that wasn’t the best idea and ruffians do their thing of attacking Japan. America comes in to protect them from the rampaging Ruffians, but it turns out to be a false angel. These people “assisting” the Japanese, the Armed Volunteers, use this opportunity to pretty much take over Japan, since I’m assuming the government was pretty weak already. So now we’ll obviously see Japanese people who are very opposed to this- that’s the Savior Group. Led by Achi, they fight the Armed Volunteers plus any Ruffians who get in their way. There are two main parts of the Savior Group; the Rescue Group and the Hunting Group. Each group consists of many individuals, and this is where the opening of the game starts. The Armed Volunteers captured (or killed, don’t remember) every member of the Savior Group except for Achi (the leader of the Savior Group), Saki (the leader of the Hunting Group, which is part of the Savior Group), and Airan (part of the Rescue Group). The thing about Saki and Airan is that they both received blood from Achi when injured, which is known to give the people who received the blood unnatural abilities. Most injured people are not given the blood of Achi unless first aid or conventional medicine wouldn’t be enough. When Achi’s blood _is_ transferred, it’s done ritualistically and in secret. However, Saki is considered exceptional even when compared to others who received Achi’s blood. Now, the big baddie. Brad, the main antagonist, also received blood from Achi, from an older time when he was her disciple. Brad is now a part of the Armed Volunteers, and he’s a pretty important role in its system (I don’t believe it’s directly stated but it is implied that there are others in even higher positions). Now, since Brad was given the blood of Achi, he is actually able to give it others and it will have the same effect as Achi’s own blood. He passes his blood to his own team of baddies, all of which are bosses in the game. Radan, Kachua, and Leda (there may be more but these are who we know of). As seen with Radan and Leda, the Brad’s blood has the ability to transform the receiver into a Ruffian, just like Achi. However due to Kachua we know this isn’t always the case. Now, in the game, you’ll see Saki fall into a red flood throughout Tokyo. This is all supposed to be Achi’s blood (I’m not sure how, don’t ask me). This is when Saki receives Achi’s blood, as its right when he becomes a Ruffian beast. However, with Airan’s help, Saki is able to gain control of his Ruffian form and return to his human form. This is why Saki is considered half ruffian. Anyways, the explanation for Achi’s magic blood is because she’s essentially an alien, and wasn’t ever truly on the Savior Group’s side, even if she was leading it. She was actually trying to prolong the war and let Earth destroy itself, so she could replace it with a mimicry of Earth she had made, so she could be seen as a prophet to everyone on the new Earth. If you beat the final boss, then you obviously know that this does not happen, and Saki and Airan go on to have their child Isa, who inherits Achi’s blood, and is also the protagonist of the second game. Sorry if I’m bad at explaining, but I did my best Edit: Few corrections. So I actually watched the video this comment was on and it’s pretty obvious that most of the Savior Group was killed, and not captured. The main part I got wrong, however, was how Achi’s blood worked. When Achi’s (or Brad’s) blood is given to someone, they don’t randomly stay human or become ruffian. It actually turns them into a human, who has the capability to turn into a ruffian. (“Change can be a scary thing when you don’t know how to change back.”). As suggested by the quote, all of Brad’s subordinates chose to become ruffians (except Kachua), without knowing they were not capable of changing back. However Saki did know this, and changed to his ruffian form anyway. Of course it ended up being okay because Airan was able to convert him to his half ruffian form.
