I got to perform in one of the ten shows that we did because the main Kenickie actor wasn't feeling well one night. I think the guy who plays Connor deserved more than one song that doesn’t fit into the rest of the movie in any way. Sincerely Me is one of my favorite songs in the entire show, but without any other moments of dark comedy, it just seems like a mid-movie hallucination. Man, if this show/movie would have just been leaned into how dark this whole scenario is and kept this dark comedy energy throughout, it would have really made this story a lot more palatable in both the movie and the stage show. Pretending it’s all totally normal is at very least, twisted, and at most, downright sociopathic.

He’s funny in the Broadway version of this song but in this version of the song he’s just kind of annoying. But I don’t know, could just be me. I also am not the hugest fan of this one because the singing in this sounds a little delayed, but also the instruments are just louder and I am not the hugest fan that they changed some parts of the song in this. I don’t know, could all just be me. If you like this version, then that’s completely fine.
