Grooming tip! I trained my rabbits to tolerate it by only brushing them while they’re eating. So when it’s meal time (which they’re excited about) it’s also grooming time! They love their food so much that they couldn’t care else about what’s going on lol

Free toys. My rabbit loves chewing up paper bags. I don’t know about everywhere but where I live plastic bags have been band in most stores, expect if they have bags made out of recycled plastic. Things like tp or paper towel rolls too. I will take the tube and stuff it with hay and treats and fold the ends in to make it more difficult to open. Oh and summer hacks, you can put critical care and forage in ice cube trays as cold snacks.

We noticed when taking trips that if we pause every 2 hours, have the bunny walk a bit, take some time, water, food. Can have a break for 15 minutes. Then the bunny would be able to recover much faster from even longer trips. In the beginning she took quite a while to get used to the trips, but now in like 1 to 2 minutes she's OK, and is ready to eat and drink, even go to her litter box to go to the toilet. It does take time, practise and patience. And recovery of a trip is much faster when she would be on my lap (in her carrier) rather than on the backseat. Just a little tip for frequent trip travellers with a bunny!

Hey, I was wondering if in the future you would make a video on how to convince your parents to let you have an indoor bunny. I have been trying to get on for a while now, but They still believe bunnies belong outside in a hutch. I know I will not get a bunny until I have convinced them, but it has been very challenging. Thanks!😊

Hi Morgan. I'm sorry to hear that you think hay stinks. The hay that I get from a local farmer actually smells pretty good. Not offensive at all. The only downside is that is does tend to be dusty. I've been using palm leaf bowls for my Midnight for a special treat, maybe one every couple weeks. This time of year I grow a lot of herbs in pots outside snd use them to side dress his salad. I always make sure to check that whatever I'm giving him is safe for bunnies. He loves parsley, different mints, oregano, etc. Also, like Cinnabun, he doesn't like spinach. I can also get carrot tops from friends who farm, and that seems to be his favorite. I'll have to remember to dry some of the herbs so he can have them through the winter. I am very lucky that Midnight travels well and is welcome at most of my friends houses when I visit overnight. I enjoy showing them what rabbits are capable of when given the chance to be a house pet. I will from now on travel with Critical Care just in case. In case you can't tell, I am enamored with my bun! Thanks for all your tips.
@bunhelsingslegacy3549 Жыл бұрын
I hand-feed mine his breakfast kibbles and that's when I groom him. He runs away when he's had enough but comes back for the food. He is considered a flight risk at the vet's ("popcorn bunny" is listed on his file) and he is treated on the floor there, not the table, for his own safety, so though this would have worked with my two previous buns, not this one... His favourite chew treat is Mr Noodles cardboard trays and in spring and summer he gets apple and pear twigs to de-bark, but it hasn't kept him from chewing chunks out of sofa cushions and he started eating the piping off my sofa last week, so though I love the idea of palm leaf bowls, I don't think that'll help. I love the critical care hack for trips, but there is no force-feeding my rabbit anything, he doesn't tolerate being picked up too well (was like that when I got him, he just tolerates nail trims and that's it) and he becomes an angry kicky ball the second anything goes for his mouth. The only way I can get him meds if he doesn't want to lick the syringe is by spreading it on his feet so he has to groom it off himself. Oh and his favourite treat toys is toilet paper roll with the ends folded in. I leave them on "his" shelf so he knows where to go for one when he's bored.

I’m agree with all tips except than critical care! Most bunnies hate it…. Not really sure why! And the way that in the video Cinnabon was taking it was way too stressful…firstly bc is in car and second is they know is not the normal way of their eating habit … What I do is before going out I give my bunny blended Timothy hay with pellets in it mixed with water she likes it! And on the way I stop each hour in service area I take rest and she eats hay on her own! A study in 2013 on rabbits showed that stress is the major cause of ear infection, UTI and tumor in rabbits due to sudden drop of immunity of rabbits immune system. I would like to suggest more gentle way such as my own experience I early mentioned above! Nice video, Thank you.

I have never had bunnies, but I have had Guinea Pigs, and I’m trying to save up for a Holland Lop (bc I heard it’s a good beginner breed-) I’m planning on keeping it in my room with supervision when going outside in a play pen, do you think that’s a good set up? My parents don’t want to give it full reign of the house, so it would just be in my room with a lot of going in the yard- I just want to be sure it’s a good set up for like where it can be and stuff- like it obviously won’t stay in my room, I’ll let it be out and about when my moms not babysitting or when my dogs and cats are in the area-
