SHORT NOTES: Amylase in saliva digests carbohydrates but only cooked ones, zymogen cells produce pepsinogen and oxyntic cells produce hcl and castle's intrinsic factor, pancreas produce most potent enzymes which includes amylopsin for starch, steapsin for lipids, trypsin (active form of tripsinogen ), chymotrypsin (active form of chymotrypsinogen) and carboxypeptidase (active form of procarboxypeptidase) for proteins. These are converted to active form by enterokinase produced by duodenum. Pancreas also produces nucleotidases and nucleosidases. The succus entericus is the juse which contains enzymes rleased by entocytes of intestines they include dipeptidases along with RNAses and DNAses. The absorption of glucose is directly done by blood stream after passing from vili and proteins as well but absorption of fats is done by covering them with apolipoproteins forming chylomicros constituting chyle. The serosa is outermost layer of intestines nad stomach, muscularis is 2nd layer in which longitudinal muscles are first and then circular, only stomach have oblique muscles, 3rd layer is sub mucosa it has blood vessels, lymph vessels and nerve fibres, the last layer mucosa have villi in small intestine, taenia coli in large intestine and rugae in stomach..
