I understand the modestly dressed part completely. But (and this is an honest question) how do hats really matter? Like what is a hat doing that disrupts what a worship team is doing?

Thanks! They’re all Samsun Cymbals. They’re a company based out of Samsun Turkey but have a US distributer in Dallas. I’ve been working with them for almost 8 years and they’re phenomenal. The fastest way to reach them is actually through their Facebook page right now “Samsun Cymbals USA” Cymbals featured (from left to right) 14” Medium-thin Evo Hats 9” Evo Splash 17” Medium Brilliant Crash 21” Medium-thin Heritage Ride 20” Thin Heritage RB Crash 18” FX / 20” Extra Thin Earth Ride

I really like the sound of the hi-hats when they’re closed. I saw in your last vlog that you’re using two 16in crashes for it. Does it feel any different than 14’s? I’ve only ever used 14in hats.

Daniel Bernard are you a fan of the drum shield? I don't know but I was never a fan. We used to conregate at a pretty large church and the drums had no shield. One week they had a mini choir so they put up the drum shield so the drums won't drown out the choir but the following week for what ever reason, they left the shield up with no mini choir and it just did not sound so good. After service I told the drummer that it didn't sound good that they should take it down and he agreed. The week after it was down and boy it sounded great and he did not have to change his way of playing. Have you guys ever tried it off on a live church service before?
@DanielBernard7 жыл бұрын
I don't mind the shield really. Our sanctuary is so live, we have a hard time dialing in the sound, which is why we've gone with a cage traditionally. We're testing the drums out of the cage to see what we think. Long term we need more sound treatment in our room really. It's all about the space you're in.
