This is utterly marvelous!!! First, the B Goodman band Carnegie Hall performance / recording of "Sing sing sing " still thrills me The choreography design here equally thrills. I'm trying to conceive exactly HOW exhausted / winded these marvelously talented ladies must have felt after this performance. Energetic dance including multiple acrobatic LEAPS through the air..across nearly five minutes w no rest!!!!

My High School English teacher to our class into the auditorium, to hear this and hopefully apply it to English writing and composition. Don't know if it worked but was a great experience and gave me a life long love of this piece. RIP Mr. Hottleman.

The younger the person is the less likely they are to be familiarized wit the music and how it has changed over the years. It should be a coarse they take in school, where you learn of the roots of music whether it be Mozart or London Bridge is falling down. There was song before the Big Band era, and there were nursery rhimes before Disco & Rap. I grew up with doowop and onto the Beatles and stuff, but i was told nothing/ learnt nothing of the Big Band era while in highschool. thx4 postin'

Elmer zu I agree. I am 69. My father fought in WWII. We did not have much money growing up but my parents raised us with all types of music and dance. The radio was always on. Being born and raised in New Orleans we were exposed especially to Dixieland. Frankie Ford (Sea Cruise) practiced in our backyard in the fifties. The young people of today need to be taught culture. I had a young man installing a security system in my home a few weeks ago and he did not know who Judy Garland was! I made sure my son knew West Side Story, the Nutcracker, symphony, etc. They are being robbed of such beauty. It is sad.

Just for fun, wander over to the Kyoto Tachibana High School Band version of Sing. Kids being professional grade if a tad robotic. Musicality and choreography are top grade. Seems marching band is a girl thing in Japan. I always had a bit of trouble with the drum solos when dancing to this.

I had forgotten how beautiful those flowing, clinging dresses from the 1940s were. They were so Feminine and colorful. I kept looking for the black line up the women's rear calves but missed them, maybe nobody was wearing hose!

@@nineteenfortyeight6762 This is definitely late twentieth century but they are wearing 1940s costumes. The camera work and sloppy stage presence as well as the caption makes the date probably in the 1980-90s, amature. Still a delight though, they seem to be having a ball!
