I was born there in March of '75. Dad lived all over the world, but Singapore was by far his favorite place. I have been fortunate enough to return to Singapore on three occasions, most recently this past April, and I must say I agree with dad, it is the most beautiful city in the world.

My family lived there for 2 years, 74 and 75. I was in the 2nd and 3rd grade. We loved eating at the car park stalls. They have all been moved indoors and are well regulated for sanitary conditions now. I can't remember the road it was on but every Sunday we would get packets of char kway teow to go from this sidewalk restaurant. The diversity of food in Singapore is second to none!

God, I LOVE Singapore! Almost completely unrecognizable in this film. The people, the food, lord knows, the HEAT. Can't wait to get back this fall for my annual escape from reality. Thank you for posting!

I moved to Singapore in 1971 and lived there for 13 years, both of my children were born in the Alexandra hospital my favourite place was the car park at Cold Storage in the evening for a late meal , and going to the movies and getting some Currypuff’s after and eating them on the way home

Many thanks for posting this video. I lived there from '74 to '79 and this brought memories flooding back. Returned in October 2018 to show my kids where I lived as a child. Only one of the three addresses I lived at, Botanic Gardens and Haw Par Villa / Tiger Balm Gardens was all I could find untouched by progress. Not knocking the changes, more a comment on how things change over time.

Wow! I was born in Jan 1975, its nice to see how my country looks like back then that year. Was that on the boat ride to Ubin Island (Pulau Ubin) village? Thank you for sharing this nostalgic memory. :)

The best time of my life is during British Colonial Era when an ice-ball costs you only 5 cents. Gone are the days when the British bids 'The Last Farewell' to Singapore in 1971. This is truly the legacy of Queen Elizabeth the Second.."gone but not forgotten, wherever you may be!" Thank you for educating us, your British Subjects!

@@rennzx5026 progress with less human touch , we greets each other, sharing, laughter and happy conversation on a dinner table not staring at handphone, smiling face is common on the street, people know each other while waiting for bus or in a bus while sitting next to each other, people know each other when sharing a table in a food court, not staring at handphone in their own world, people make true friends through gathering and socialise ,not the Fake Digital Add Friends!!! Not showing off in Instagram & FB!!! Self centered and insecure! Simple but friendly, contempted and happy, less stressful. We had Pen-Pal, friends through writing letters, we feel their soul and presence reading their letters from their pen stroke! Now is no more human touch !, it's Screen touch!!
