the landing killed my ears. It's like Phewwww, then "BOOMMM" "ROARING"

I love this vid! And, at first, I was astounded at the acoustics as emanated from the gear-landing; but this a380 has an outragous weight to bear. Brilliant vid greatflyer96.
@OnceACommenter13 жыл бұрын
the first sound is for the landing gear,the second,third,forth ones are for the flaps.
@ollo198213 жыл бұрын
@UFOSPACE1999 The Barking sound you hear on a A320 family aircraft is the PTU for the hydaulic system,a power transfer unit,that transfers power from for example from the right hand system,to the left hand system,when/if the left hans system goes under a certain PSI... nothing more than that.. it is common to hear the PTU transfering power during all stages of a flight.. it have even been heard during cruise :D
@greatflyer9614 жыл бұрын
@SingaporeAirflyer It's all the extension of the landing gears. The very loud " boom" at 4:34 was produced when the landing gears were locked into position.
@EK433B77W14 жыл бұрын
@Edwiness Situations such as a requirement for a high speed approach from Air Traffic Control e.g.. 185kts to 5DME, therefore the crew would select the gear at a speed that is just outside the VLE, again where it is determined safe and/or necessary. The gear could be selected at normal position but that would result in more power needed + fuel because of the increase in drag from the extension of the gear.
@FalseShatner13 жыл бұрын
Amazing how loud the landing gear are. Well until ya realize how humongous those things are. Garage sized doors opening up, house sized wheels locking into position... Sounds like there's a warning ping even.
@oluwawamirionakoya32872 жыл бұрын
Hoooly mama mia!Mia!! I never noticed how loud the landing could be when the plane dragged the runway, that time I was 8 years old I flew an Airbus a330-200 and the plane landing very smoothly and after that everyone gave the pilot a round if applause
@deltadirect12 жыл бұрын
it's the mic, you can tell becasue when the plane lands, peoples voives in the background are static(ie).
@EK433B77W14 жыл бұрын
Great video mate, what was the seat no.? Cheers! In regards to the lound noise, I think he might have been a little too fast for the gear to be extended, that's what caused the loud bang.
@Cessna154112 жыл бұрын
i have to say. that a380 was either making really loud noises or it's just you mic. i remember my a380 flight to paris and it was no where as loud as that. even the landing was nice
@peace09ful13 жыл бұрын
Nice video man,really nice! The landing was kind of fun,sounds like the wheels are exploding :D Good job!
@FixManTx12 жыл бұрын
If the camera was sitting on the windowsill that would explain the loudness of the flaps hydraulics and the wind noise from the landing gear. Sounds and vibration coming from the plane transmit through the camera directly to the mic.
@HalomasterA6912 жыл бұрын
Thats because the front of the engine air is just being sucked in, like a fan all quiet, but in the back its litrarly one giant rocket, thats why its much louder in the back.
@Andy10762 жыл бұрын
Helluva lot of chop in the air! I half expected a go around 😮
@a380rockerfan12 жыл бұрын
LOL that landing was ridiculously loud! I think your mike got overloaded, that's why there was a lot of sound distortion. Great vid though!
@andresggcf12 жыл бұрын
yeah i think its the seat i sat near the wing too and the flaps i could always hear them... and another time i sat far back and it was super quiet
@LWJCarroll12 жыл бұрын
Hi... thanks for doing this!!...It was really interesting as I didnt know the outer aileron on the A380 was segmented like that....Rgds...Laurie
@sthill199313 жыл бұрын
Yeah everything seems louder on an A380 as it's so quiet, but the gear is unusually loud, could be becuase there are just more of them!
@ndlelam112 жыл бұрын
Yup, no problem at all for the A333 to fly from AMS-ATL. I believe a Qantas A332 flew direct from Toulouse to Sydney on its delivery flight some years ago so it certainly is capable of super long range flights.

I flew on an Arik Air Airbus a330-200 and the landings you should have felt it, it was smooth

If the camera was working properly, we would look at the wing 5. hours?
@a380rockerfan12 жыл бұрын
Was this vibration occuring in without the spoilers deployed or with them deployed? When the spoilers are deployed they create a lot of turbulence therefore shaking of the plane.
@Supahemz12 жыл бұрын
the only thing i dislike about the a380 is the windows. why is the inner and outer panes of the windows so far apart?

Wow great video and nice landing. Love the ''bang'' sound of the gear, must have been a great feeling I guess.
@EK433B77W14 жыл бұрын
@Edwiness Circumstances such as this, where the gear is deployed too fast could be a result of what’s known as a ‘hot’ approach, where the flight crew have not fully judged their approach accordingly resulting in the aircraft either being too fast or too high on the glide slope. Therefore, the gear is deployed out of the VLE and VLO to increase drag, resulting in the aircrafts deceleration. Or... See next comment.
@superzzza14 жыл бұрын
by the extension of landing gears do you mean the sound @ 3:18 or the "BOOM" @ 4:34? lol
@greatflyer9612 жыл бұрын
It's impossible to rest the camera against the window. There is a lot of vibration in the window, and it creates a loud rattling sound when it strikes the camera.
@Edwiness14 жыл бұрын
@EK433B77W unlikely. Pilots wouldn't lower the gear at a faster speed than what VLE for fear it would damage the aircraft. If they were going too fast to make a safe landing they'd go around. Gear extension always makes a sound.
@hormanchung12 жыл бұрын
When I flew to Australia it was loud too, I was sitting in the middle section near the wing

My quistion is i am flying with KLM Airbus A330-300 Can this plane make it to Atlanta? When i checked some pictures it didnt look that big and it didnt had 4 engines only 2. Is this a problem or?. Thanks.
