Singapore Airlines Flight Faces Severe Turbulence: A rare and tragic incident took place aboard a Singapore airlines flight from London to Singapore this afternoon in which at least one person died and dozens were injured after the flight encountered severe turbulence en route. According to data captured by Flightradar24, the Singapore Airlines flight was cruising at 37,000 feet, then within 3 minutes sharply dropped 6,000 feet - and then remained at 31,000 feet for about 10 minutes before rapidly descending and landing in Bangkok. They tell you to keep it on while seated the WHOLE time in case of unexpected turbulence.. so yes you SHOULD wear it at all times.

Amazing how many people are not smart enough to just slightly loosen the seatbelt after take off. Maybe they are first time flyers and do not know about unexpected turbulence. If you ease seat belt you are never aware it's fastened unless you hit turbulence and then you need it.
