G’DAY OWFsquad, welcome to my 36th flight in 2019! On 26th July, I flew Singapore Airlines from Hong Kong to Singapore, the aircraft was operated by a new A380. Singapore Airlines fly seven times daily from Singapore to Hong Kong with one that goes onwards to San Francisco. Singapore Airlines also utilise a variety of aircraft on this route including the A350-900, A380 and B787-10. Cathay Pacific fly nine times daily with a variety of aircraft types including the A350-1000 and B777-300. One of the daily flights go via Bangkok. Jetstar Asia and Scoot also fly between the cities.

Very good of you to not identify the grumpy crew. You never know what rude customer she just endured or private matter she had to deal with. Some vloggers live off having crew run ins which is petty and unfair. Thanks again for your great videos.

I’ve flown on this very flight and it’s the best way to experience an A380. The new cabin looks very good too! I like the SQ cabin crew and I’ll never forget someone saying “they don’t walk the cabin they glide through..”. Lol

I have only flown a 380 from London to Singapore. The crew were great .I had a chat with them during the quite times. Back in my seat I was handed a note signed by the crew thanking me for flying with them. They also gave me two pack of playing cards. great airline.

Lovely flight, glad you blocked out the not so friendly CC, everyone has a bad done at work and we don't know what was going on in her life so no need to expose her. What a packed flight, the CC certainly kept busy on this route. Why does Hagen Daaz always taste better at 30,000ft? When l buy it at Coles never tastes the same. Thanks for sharing 👍

Yep a totally packed a380 this was! No idea why ice cream tastes better on a plane, Google shows nothing much about it too. But it just does haha!! I would love to try sundaes onboard US carriers one day!

I flew on the old A380 - Heathrow- Sydney and back- in October 2017. The one that had the wired remote for the entertainment screen. I was very pleased and enjoyed all four flights. I am returning in February 2020 and will be flying on this 800 model. Looks like a great improvement on the previous one. After watching your report. I am getting excited and really looking forward to it. Singapore Airlines are great to fly on long haul flights. I found all the flight attendants very friendly last time. Thanks again for your detailed report.

Indeed great improvement, old one was good enough but why say no to a new seat. The only thing with the new seat is that there’s no footrest but other than that it’s perfect. Thanks for watching and I wish you an enjoyable journey with them :)

I had great experience with this airline and plane. I was on a 13 hour flight from SIA to LHR and it was great. The amenities can be easily accessed by anyone in the toilet (but you have to ask for the eyeshades) . Unexpectedly I believe a crew member saw me filming the cabin and they gave me some headphones that aren't given out in economy but premium economy 🤯 I love this airline

I have flown quite a few sectors with SQ since 2015, and only encountered two FA that I was unimpressed with. One was on a flight where there was an issue with perhaps the tray table or something, in sin aisle exit seat. The FA said ‘ that’s the way it is’ which I thought was pretty slack. It. Clearly wasn’t. Also, I recently used my points to upgrade from PE to Business on one sector, from HND to SIN. The FA in my cabin could not quite deal with me speaking Japanese with her, and as a result, I think I missed out on a classic SQ Business Class total experience.

lovely review, as always. I flew SQ861 in economy last month and it was great. 3 hours before boarding, I checked my SQ app to manage my boarding pass and try to change my seat and lucky I got front row for free, and surprised it was empty row, I have it all.

Actually every airline knows how to store ice-cream onboard. But it takes an innate effort by the crew in ensuring the right amount of time to thaw the ice cream. This effort, many other airlines don't wish to pursue Coz not every airlines are as passionate.

If you are seriously concerned about the way the flight attended treated you, you should let SQ know, giving them your flight details, seat number etc, I did something similar and actually heard back from SQ about it, too, so my concern was acknowledged. I thought that was impressive. They really are a very good airline.

Excellent mate! great information and details throughout! I feel like I learn something each time I watch your videos XD Its been over two years since I flew a Singapore A380 PVG-SIN. The cabin looks quite nice and economy appears relatively spacious. I will say though, the only time I have had a rude flight attendant, was on Singapore Airlines.... Good evening from the UK Jayden. I'm sooo jealous of flying on that plane. I had 4 flights on an A380 (MA and Qatar) and loved every minute. I'm still chuckling about your mild outrage at being given a kiddie's toy :) Such a pity that SA is following the herd with litter left in pockets and a dirty tray table mirror. Passengers really need to start bringing this to the attention of the airline managements (not by social media) ... after all, if there is dirt that you can see, there will be a lot more bacteria that you can't. I also flew the very back row of Singapore Airlines economy on the A380. It was great because you could recline as far as you could (it was just space behind the seat) and the toilets are just behind you

Hi again OWF, Great video as always! Singapore Airlines look very impressive here (as usual). The new cabin looks great, seat and all it’s features look very nice and comfortable. Great review! Looks like the SQ product is excellent. It’s certainly a concern to see a crew member being rude, but then again, there could be an array of reasons for that. I reckon flying excessively can be tiresome and perhaps could cause a crew member to be tired. After all, SIN-HKG is a turnaround too. But that being said the rest of the flight looks excellent. The treat of ice cream is amazing!

Thanks for sharing another enjoyable trip report with us Jayden. Overall this appears to have been a very good experience aside from the one flight attendant. I like the new economy cabin and am impressed that SQ hasn`t gone the way of many carriers and reduced the seat width and pitch. 19in seat width and 32in pitch is very decent by today`s standards.

I dont think that grumpy crew was grumpy. she had to control her passengers in order to complete the service for everyone in the area. if not, she may not be able to serve everyone with their choice. some passengers are very demanding, as if he/she is the king/queen. some crew are used to these passengers, some aren't yet used to them. I understand her position and understand why you feel she seemed grumpy. but the service that needs to be completed and the flight time can be very challenging, especially with demanding passengers.

I agree some of the passengers were hard to deal with, but the crew have to deal with it and get used to it, her negative attitude can be easily passed onto other passengers. If other crew members can maintain positive attitude throughout the flight, she could've too. Again, not entirely her fault, but she could've done a better job :)

Enjoy it while you can. I reckon that the majority of these currently in service will be sent for scrap within 5 years. They were a disaster in terms of sales to world airlines, and production ceased a couple of years ago. most carriers are moving towards twin engined aircraft now.
