My previous video showed our incoming flight from Malaysia and the worst inflight meal I'd ever eaten.
This week's video sadly sees us leave Asia and return to Australia. Which is not a bad thing, but I will miss SE Asia and all the amazing people and food...the FOOD!
As always, I over indulge in too much food and too much drink at the Singapore Airlines Silverkris lounge at SIN Changi Airport.
Before you can say "7 hour transit" it was time to board our gorgeous Singapore Airlines Airbus A350 Business Class from Singapore (SIN) to Melbourne (MEL).
Unlike our incoming flight from KUL, this flight proved to be a culinary delight. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the dinner I received on this flight was the absolute best inflight nasi lemak I'd ever eaten...and I have eaten a LOT of nasi lemak with SQ and MH.
Thank you ALL for joining me on my culinary return to Malaysia. This was a much needed family and recreational vacay for fam.
Do not despair, I will be returning in a couple of weeks as I embark upon a brand new round the world travel series.
Thank you and take care.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, I watch too much TV, eat and drink too much to be a productive member of society. I have an insatiable craving to taste, smell and enjoy everything life has in store for me.
I have been bitten by the wanderlust bug and find nothing more thrilling than packing my bag and jumping on a plane to any far flung destination.

This brings my Malaysian foodie holiday to an end :-( Don't despair as I will be starting another travel foodie series very soon! Let me know if there are any other countries you'd like me to visit.

Hi Tim, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you eat your favourite foods on the plane, and your expression is priceless. I've recently travelled on Qantas economy Perth to Adelaide, and I too had OMG moment when the food came but not in a good way 😂 Would you do a cruise review? Regards Erika from sunny Perth 😎

@@Erika-el1kp Thank you so much for your ongoing support. I'm so glad that you're enjoying the videos I've created. I have definitely been told that I have a very expressive and rubber face. I'm going to take that as a compliment. Haha! I've actually done one cruise last year and had the most amazing time. I am considering doing more but I really struggled with sea sickness and I worry about longer cruises and whether I'd be able to acclimate and get sea legs. What happened on your Qantas flight? When you say bad how bad? Surely not as bad as that terrible meal I got on Singapore Airlines between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Hey Tim, we had 'breakfast' service on the Qantas flight. The continental breakfast was one small flavourless muffin, one small natural yoghurt, and a small pack of apple slices, which was about 1/4 of an apple. This is for a flight that's just under 3 hours long.😢 As for your seasickness, I, too can get seasick, but you will find the cruise ships are not that bad with their stabilisers. We have done 5 cruises and only once felt a bit off with the rough seas. Try a cruise through the Straits of Mallaca. it's nice and calm through there. Erika from sunny Perth 😎

I had a Singapore Sling once at The Raffles. Actually, I had two of them! Years ago now. It was lovely! Thank you for the video!

Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy a Singapore sling especially when you have it at the iconic raffles. Did you eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor? Do they still do that?

@@TimEatsandTravels I did not eat the peanuts. It was years ago so I don’t know if they still do it. Very ‘rubber planter in the 1930s’! Lovely hotel though. Evocative. I felt as though Willie Maugham was right behind me the whole time I was there, a few hours! It would be ruinously expensive to spend a night there in a suite but one day I may do it!

Love your work Tim :). The movement is fine for me and you have to move to to show things. I still love your suitcase lol and your tees now :)

I love that suitcase too. No one is ever going to steal it. haha Someone mentioned that I move way too quickly and people struggle to see what I'm filming. Even after all this time, I still have yet to find a balance between speed and focus.

I realise you were probably tired from the last leg of your adventure, and didn't want to disturb others in the lounge by talking out loud too much; but I missed the vibes and presentation style of your earlier Japan/Tokyo lounge/food reviews. Maybe in your next trip you could do some slower, longer camerawork, and really pull a Mark Wiens and sample a little of *everything* lol. And if it's too awkward to talk out loud while you're in the lounge, maybe record commentary afterwards describing what you're eating? Great channel!

Oh Jerry, you're a long term watcher of my channel! I really loved my Japanese travels and look forward to return. I enjoyed making that style of content and had full intention of doing it in the SQ lounge but it was so crowded I will admit I felt very awkward. Even filming I had frowned stares from others in the lounge. Thank you for your feedback and I will definitely also record commentary should I not be able to speak at time of filming.

Kathryn, you are truly so sweet. Thank you for your beautiful comment. By the way, I don't know if you saw my response in the chat, but I do hope to get River onto the couch a lot more next season. I jsut have to get her to sit and relax more instead of running around like a crazy dog!

I had a chicken rice on SQ business a few month ago and I only got 3 slice of chicken!!! I was pretty upset about that. The meal you had looks good and generous portion.

As you could see, I was very lucky with the nasi lemak I ordered. The plate was so full and I really enjoyed the meal. I'm sorry that you only got three slices of chicken. The SQ cabin crew are very friendly. I am sure if you mentioned to them how little chicken you got, they would allow you to pick another main course from the menu.

One thing I miss about traveling is the lounge catering at Asian airports. Thumbs up to SK Lounge. You know, I've never paid to fly SQ on my own dime. Either my parents paid or work did. Long haul business class multi course meal is ALWAYS welcomed. That nasi Lemak though, man. I'm salivating. Looking forward to your next series!

That nasi lemak was seriously next level. To serve that with so much flavour is seriously magic. You know I love my ikan bilis. Alas, I've paid SQ a LOT of my hard earned cash HAHA Pre covid, very much a worthwhile option. However, based on my recent experiences with them, I am starting to question if their offering is worth it. Considering catering is now down to one meal per flight to/from Aus and you don't get an amenities kit.

Do they provide amenity/toiletry kits?

I am afraid Singapore Airlines does not provide amenities kits to business class passengers. One of my gripes about the airline and why I am slowly moving to other airlines that provide amenities kits and pyjamas for their premium pax.

I actually asked on this and the MEL - SIN flights and the cabin crew said 'Sorry, no amenities for business class on this flight'. Pre-covid I flew SIN - CPH (and return) and the cabin crew said "We have laid out all the amenities in the toilets if you need to use it". The only times I received an amenities kits on SQ were the times i flew in their First and Suites classes.
