Interview is conducted in a mixture of English and Mandarin.
I have been most honoured to be able to speak to 7 different members of Singapore Chin Woo Athletic association 新加坡精武体育会. 4 younger generation as well as 3 esteemed seniors who have been with SG Chin Woo for many years.
The Golden Lions of Chin Woo are uniquely Singapore and have been part of the Lion City since 1934.
Younger members
1) Loh Si Hui (罗斯诲)
2) Chay Wen Long (谢文龍)
3) Lim Kai Xun (林凯勋)
4) Loh Jing Yang (罗靖扬)
Seniors
1) Leow Yong Hwee (廖永辉)
2) Seah Keok Seong (佘克松)
3) Lim Soin Khoon (林先坤)
They shared their treasured memories, challenges as well as parting words from the seniors for the next generation.
I was then treated into a rare glimpse of the Golden Lions at play, this performance was put together at Duxton Plain Park, the heartbeat of SG Chin Woo. There was also a percussion performance which sets this troupe apart as the sounds incorporates that of the Peking Opera.
