Yeah Redhill is (to me) considered one of the old heritage HDB estates along with Commonwealth, Queenstown and Tanglin Halt. Really like the vibes of this place but its facing increasing gentrification on the other side of the MRT. One of the more expensive condominiums in Singapore are being built here. P.S I just realised a new early access video. KZbin tells me it can be accessed from the membership tab. Can you take a look and see if all is okay? Thanks for the feedback Daisy!

Wow Angsua in 8K! Many thanks for this video Alan. You are absolutely right in commenting about "the gentrified neighbourhood of Redhill". So much different from it's notorious, gangland past in the '70s AND '80s.The majority of elderly residents nowadays is rather poignant and remarkable. Thanks for this trip down memory lane brother. Good to see you walking like a boss everywhere and to think I mistakenly thought you were saddled with injuries. My bad!

Happy to finally give Redhill some screen time and in 8k glory as well 🤣 I used to come to this area for the swimming at delta swimming complex. So much has changed. Redhill close estate also enbloc and will be cleared for more condos. Very soon will become another Tanglin Halt

😂 Glad you still remembered our Liho and Mr Bean. I'm kind of a regular customer of Mr Bean in the past. Always had warm soya milk (without sugar). Between ice kachang and chendol I always prefer the chendol option 😁 guess I enjoy having more coconut milk in my dishes

@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Yes, of course I remember!😄 That is my favorite dessert place too, always come to their outlets when I am there haha and I always order a peanut pancake ( the one of my fave ) and an ice soy milk with sugar haha that's so good!😄 Is it good taste for you without any sugar?hahaha health is number one is it 😄😄 And how about Lao Ban beancurd is it still there?That is my fav too!😁

@@oliviazu I kinda got used to having alot of drinks without sugar. My kopi o is always kosong (no sugar). It tastes terrible without sugar (only can drink half a cup) but I get my caffeine fix and the bitterness perks me up 😂 Yeah Lao Ban beancurd is still "alive", that said I haven't had one in quite awhile. I live near Rochor so I always go to get some rochor beancurd these days
@oliviazu3 жыл бұрын
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Yeah.. sounds good if you like the bitterness taste, but I don't like the bitterness myself haha. Well there it is.. The famous Rochor Beancurd, I also really like it so much. Especially the beancurd and the You Tiao 🤤 But the last time I went there and looked for it, why it wasn't there? Which location is close to the Plaza Singapura and The Cathay area. Are the outlets there still open? Nice to talk to you Alan!😊 Thank you.
@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV3 жыл бұрын
@@oliviazu There was a period of time where the rochor beancurd was closed. But recently (last week) it was open. The venue is close to this old mall called Parklane. I just one of the closer mrt would be Dhoby Ghaut or Bencoolen. The beancurd , you tiao and butterfly are nice, but the service there is beyond hope 😂

Redhill MRT station recently became world famous because of the K-Pop girl band Blackpink... they were inspired by a photo taken by Singapore photographer Nguan and recreated it in their music video, 마지막처럼 (AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST)... just search for it in YT and you will find it... I can't post a link or else it'll become spam.
