Thanks for taking us along the tour - very nice video! I really like Mobot but it seems to be so hard to buy their products within the European Union. Is there an importeur in the EU? What would be the best way to order a bike from Mobot within the EU? I would be very thankful for such information here or in a video. Greetings from Germany :-)
@TwoWheelCruise

I believe they're working on entering the EU market, so hopefully they have a better solution soon. Now the import/shipping fees are expensive so you're almost better off coming to Singapore on vacation and bringing the bike back with you.

The peak heat time in SG as you pedal thru Lim Chu Kang area is actually around 3-4PM, cos at 12 noon, you only have the sun above, but at 3-4PM, the heat is coming also from the ground, cos by that time it's super heated. We try to time our RTI rides to avoid hitting the LCK and Tanah Merah Coastal Road stretches at that hour.

Singapore infrastrutures, be it the roads, cycling path, walking path = 1st class. Orderliness and cleanliness = second to none. All thanks to Singapore govt, lead by very capable and visionary leaders. Can't say the same for her northern neighbours which have a lot to catch up. Even for other developed countries like US, Japan. China, all these countries still have a lot to learn from Singapore, it's clean, safe and friendly. Also getting around S'pore is very convenient with its efficient public transport system and it's very cheap to use it. Only drawback - S'pore has become one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in, especially the housing sector.

Loving these video upload frequency you guys!! Cruise, I was wondering if you've heard of the DAFT program in the Netherlands? It's VERY easy for Americans to become residents in the NL. I think my wife and I are heavily considering this.

This is very true. Cars, bus, lorries, cab, trucks mostly all sorts of vehicles dont like cyclists in singapore. They consider cyclists as pests. They dislike cyclists to a point that if they hit cyclist they will just ignore and run away. Roads in singapore are narrow which shows on your video how trucks squeeze on the road. Cycling dedicated lanes are only at TMCR, Seletar aerospace area. The rest all are Park connector networks. Anyway lucky u didnt had any issues when u cycled RTI 130km.

Yes, indeed, eggs if polluted with salmonella will result in food poisoning. But thankfully the Singapore Food Agency only allow selected registered local and foreign egg farms to supply to SG. These egg farms are subjected to stringent regular checks and inspections by SFA, and their eggs can actually be eaten raw. But once in a while, SFA did find traces of salmonella on imported eggs, these were recalled and removed from the stores. And yes, it is still a good practice to have food fully cooked.

Thanks for taking us on a "around the island" tour in Singapore! In my wildest dreams, I would never have imagined experiencing what such a bicycle adventure would look like. Everything looked so appealing, surrounded by peaceful ocean views, to say nothing of the amazing food breaks and bike infrastructure. This content is idyllic in so many ways. We appreciate the originality and high quality of your content, and, of course, you do a great job hosting the video shoot featuring your signature matter of fact commentary that always gives us just the right amount and type of information. Got to give you credit, too, for the really cool cycling outfits you guys wear in general and in this video in particular. Just wondering if the wet roads splashed up any water onto your clothing, and if so how you deal with it. Lastly, I have a honking horn on my hybrid similar to the one on your borrowed bike. I rarely use my honker (nice to have, though), and I have a bell, too, which is my go-to warning most of the time. Wouldn’t mind seeing video content shot in heavier rain (sorry) to get some idea of how you would cope with it and still have fun. Oh yes, it was great to have your wife share her thoughts in English near the end. It adds an important perspective on your cycling experience in Singapore. By the way, the country looks beautiful!

I saw the video from that singaporian girl, who rode with you, She struggled on that one hill with 3% gradient. Afterwards you said to her, she should not use so easy gears, better heavier gears. Why did you recommend that? I mean, a harder gear for her would not make her faster, but more pain to spin the crank. I guess she is a beginner and for a beginner it is better a higher cadence than a slower cadence on hills. When she always pushes the same watts, it is less painful with a higher cadence than a lower cadence. She needs to work on her watts, not on the cadence in my opinion. It would be interesting, how you meant that exactely?
@TwoWheelCruise
@TwoWheelCruise Жыл бұрын
I noticed that during our ride she was not really changing her gears. This was a problem that Thuong used to have where she did not realize when or how she should change gears based on the terrain. On that hill, I thought she was struggling more because of the high cadence and suggested she try a bigger gear to see if it would be easier for her.

I have to say next to your videos of Taiwan this one of your ride around Singapore is one of my favorite videos. I commented in one of your earlier Singapore videos how amazing the infrastructure for cyclists is top notch. Where I live here in Texas not so much, there dedicated bike lanes through some of the neighborhoods and along some major roads, where you still have a lot of interaction with autos, so safety is a major concern. Singapore is legit. Thank you Cruise for sharing the adventure. Enjoy the Ride!

May i request for an honest review of the mobot road bike? Is there a huge difference between the Mobot road bike and say a Specialised SL6?

It felt good and performed well throughout our ride. The bike felt natural after we set our saddle position and we didn't need any other adjustments. I did not do any hard efforts or fast cornering / accelerations, so I can't say anything about that.
