During my time in Singapore from 1990 to 2000.. There were only two MRT lines.. North South red line and West East green line.. Now have so many lines.. No "garden by the bay" etc etc.. at that time.Remember I use to go to pray at the big temple at waterloo.. If not because of "family problem".I believe I will still be working in Singapore..

Thanks Minsky. In Singapore, cyclists are allowed on footpaths and pavements (speed limit 10km/hour). We co-exist with pedestrians in utilising the space. We don't have roads designated for cycling in Singapore (or at least in the location I'm cycling at). That said, in the beginning part of my journey, I'm pushing my bicycle, because like you said, it's dangerous 🚲😊

Fascinating 😆 I look at it another way. That the government has the willpower and money to conserve those shophouses. Many of the shophouse you see have conservation status, they cannot be demolished to make way for skyscrapers. In land scarce Singapore, that is saying a lot. Our government essentially makes money by selling plots of land for development. If they chose not to demolish them (when its right at our city centre), they are either very rich and/or they feel its more important to conserve heritage buildings. By the way, those shophouses in the city centre are extremely expensive and can fetch up to S$11 million or more (depending on the area)
