Great vid! Felt the same when I visited the first time years ago. What you see is what you get. Amazing how details of the thousands of items of differing textures and colours are organised and harmonises with the natural surroundings - calming the senses as you walk through.

Once upon a time, around 1998 when I was located in Singapore I went to this place (cannot recall who showed me how to get there, no real maps of singapore, no mobiles). It really did not change. - The surrounding though was jungle then. After shopping, no taxis did pick you up from that place. I remember sweating a lot walking and carrying up to the next bus/MRT station. Simon, thankx for bringing back these memories. And Thow Kwang Pottery - some of your best pieces can be found now at a home in the nowhere of carinthia/Austria Thnx, Claus
@SimonSaysCanada3 жыл бұрын
That’s really cool! Taxis still struggle to find you there - every single time we go, locals seem to not know this place at all. Still one of the hidden gems, though the jungle is reseeding, I’m afraid.
@tinateh3 жыл бұрын
Area around the back of the place is fairly built up now. The back gate of the place is accessible through an orchard of sorts that connects to JTC CleanTech One complex grounds. It's open to public so just have to walk around the back from Nanyang Avenue. Bus 199 stops right in front at the first stop after Jalan Bahar from Boon Lay interchange. It's a much shorter walk than the road leading to the main entrance.

awesome stuff. this place is a special gem in Singapore for sure. you bring that out in this video! also behind this place is a small park which is quiet too and nearby is NTU where the honeybee like structure 'the hive' is and yunnan garden too.

Yep! The hive is nearly swallowing the pottery jungle whole, though...!
@stefk3 жыл бұрын
@@SimonSaysCanada haha you are funny. yeah it's pretty huge but the structure looks cool especially top floor looking down. trying to think of some other cool older places in singapore, little gems...nus baba house is quite authentic and interesting if you like peranakan stuff....hmm Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery was modelled after a temple in fujian and is quite old, sembawang hot springs and nearby are old bunkers trailing towards sembawang park at bermuda rd etc. Kebun Baru Birdsinging Club is interesting if you can go when there's more birds. maybe lower peirce reservoir (the reflections of the water here is pretty) and thomson nature parkis nearby too. anyway not sure if you've been to these places but thought i might add some on your to do list. oh i see you went to sentosa, there's also abandoned bunkers and stuff here too near sentosa cove via woolwich rd. also recommend forest adventure if you want a fun ziplining course for the whole family and you zip across bedok reservoir, better value for money than the one on sentosa too.
