Singapore's deep tunnel sewerage system to be up and running by end-2026

After delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Singapore's deep tunnel sewerage system is now set to be up and running by the end of 2026. This is about a year later than previously announced. Digging works for what has been described as a sewage superhighway are now complete. The project has been more than 20 years in the making and has cost around S$10 billion so far.

@@adrenfu6238 you are digressing even further now. I was commenting on your comment of the possibility of the sewage system being used to resolve flood. Sewage system is for sewage water. Flood which is caused by rainwater has an entirely different system to manage it. So are you ok?

In 2016, the Linggiu Reservoir was only 22 per cent full (or 78 per cent empty). Singapore then had to supply water to Johor. Water is very likely to be an even scarcer resource in the decades to come, so hence the need to use it wisely.
