Does anybody know how much riders get paid riding on the Asian continental circuit?

Great interview. Congrats to Boon Kiat for winning the gold for Men’s Criterion racing at 2023 SEA Games. I wanna see more such interviews with very fit cyclists like him. 🎉👍👏

@@OompaLoompaCycling absolutely agree! One thing that he mentions which is a theory i will test out when I'm in Singapore... I kinda believe that riding in Australia (anywhere else for that matter...) makes people stronger cos of how sheltered Singapore is from the wind. I'm looking at the power you guys put out to reach 35-40+kmph and it's significantly lower than what I have to put out here (unless my PM is wonky) to achieve the same speed. ie. in one of my recent videos I was chasing a guy on an e-bike and was pushing 400w for a minute to close the gap! He was going around 35kmph and i was hovering between 39-41kmph cos of the headwind.

Interesting! Jay Vine who now rides for UAE Emirates used to work in a government job in Australia. He’d quit his job for a year to focus on big races. As a matter of fact, a lot riders do that. They’d have an actual job and then take a year off to focus on cycling. Once the race is over, they’d come back. Not so sure employers in Malaysia are keen on that though 🤣
