I love Sew’s confidence. Everyone preaches about self-love but Sew really accepts herself. And that energy is infectious! Throughout this video I was thinking about all the work I want done to my face, but at the end of the video when I watched Sew... Truly the end goal is to love myself as much. I don’t know how to feel about this video. I feel like these days we should be encouraging accepting and loving yourself for who you are instead of pointing out apparent flaws that need fixing. I think plastic surgery only temporarily fixes a person’s insecurities - you can look perfect but inside is a deeper psychological issue. Also once you get surgery there’s a likelihood you’ll keep going back to fix this and fix that - before you know it you’ll look worse than you started off.

For some people, doing plastic surgery may actually help them on their journey to loving themselves. Just like how one may change up the way they style their clothes to boost their confidence or exercise to have a better physique. I don't see how these differ from plastic surgery just because it is permanent. And just like what Amanda said, if we are all about respecting people, it should also include respecting the decisions that they make :)

@@bcuiwen I do agree with you on that. But as publishers, the Smart Local must consider all content they put out because in a way they are influencers. People, including young people, look up to them and are influenced by what they do or say. I’m not opposed to plastic surgery but I think the messaging could be stronger about loving yourself for who you are and also the dangers of plastic surgery etc.
