I had this machine through high school and college. Between my roommate and myself, we must have run a million miles of thread through it. Still have it ,still runs like a deer.

Not sure if you can help me. I am brand new to sewing. Picked up this machine at a thrift store. Everything seems to be working but when I try to hook the boobin thread the needle doesn't hook onto it. I am using the plastic Class 66 bobbin, not the metal one. I do have it in correctly. Is this a common mistake I am making? How do I know I am doing it correctly. Thanks in advance.

Make sure that you are using the correct needle 15x1 or universal needle. Insure that the flat part of the needle is facing to the back of the machine. If you have done all of that, it is likely the machine is out of time.

Hi I have same sewing machine, do you know what size belt it is? Do you have any idea why my machine spins when I sew? Im thinking it needs new belt but as I’m new I have no idea what size belt I need to buy, maybe you can add a link when I can I buy belt for my sewing machine. I hope to hear from you soon.
