With the pedal foot. There is no on/off switch on this machine. When it is plugged it is basically on.

You have to disengage the needle. You twist the outer ring of the hand wheel towards yourself and the inner wheel away from you (or the other way around) you will feel it loosen. This is also covered in the guide which can be downloaded for free online.

Does it have twin and triple needle sewing facility

Twin needle, yes. Triple needle, perhaps; you should carefully turn the handlwheel manually to check needle swing so you don't break anything.

How do you disengage the needle to make a bobbin?

The small wheel inside the hand wheel. Off the top of my head I think you turn it toward you to wind the bobbin and away to sew.

Hi there Mel. I am starting leather work will i be able to sew leather and if so what thickness?

+George Kent You could sew garment leather on it. I don't know about anything thicker, it would probably do it. I wouldn't expect it to live very long though.. It only has half the motor that the standard industrial sewing machine has that was designed to sew leather.
