Singer 95K40 industrial sewing machine circa 1940. very nice old machine that I picked up. I have just run it through a service, adjusted and lubricated.
very nice machine runs beautifully hardly any wear is the a testament to the quality of these early machines. the outward appearance of this machine looks a little rough but the mechanicals are perfect.

can attachments be used on this machine or does it not have any buecus of the needle bar

i just picked one of these up today. The manual says to use 88x1 needles. I was going to sew light leather on it but can't find a 88x1 needle with a leather point for love nor money. What size of needle are you using or any advice?

I purchased this one for $150.00 but it needed some tlc. These machines take a universal needle like those used in domestic machines. I have drilled out the needle bar to take up to 140/16 needles which are much thicker. This allows me to use industrial threads for leather and canvas. I am installing a servo motor to slow it down and increase the control. With these mods you would expect to cost around $500. 00 this is still a very affordable machine. The next step up would be a 111w 211w which go for around a grand and up.
