Max Well, yes, I feel the same. She is hypnotic and spellbinding with her voice and her charm. And I may get some flack for this from some people, but I've never been a fan of singers such as Amy Winehouse, Whitney, Rhianna, or Queen. But I listen to Angelina singing her covers of them, as you said, JUST TO HEAR HER VOICE! Like Elvis Presley and his charisma, Angelina has that same magnetic effect. Charming and destined for mega-stardom (which I hope and pray will not destroy her)! That would truly break my heart!

Well, I wouldn't say *that* . She has done all covers. Other people's material. She just started to write her own music. Most great singers play their own instruments, write their own music, lyrics and produce their own albums. Angelina hasn't done any of that. Give her a lot of credit. She deserves it. But you're overdoing it. She's only 12 years old. I'm sure in time she'll get there.

Angelina stands alone with her emotional vocal artistry level , I think no one has achieve this level of emotional and artistic prowess at her age or beyond . It is like all the talent from the late and present greats have been bestowed on this Angel whom bears the name Angelina ( a little angel) Jordan ( the promised land) Astar ( A- Star), her parents could not bestowed a more appropriate name on her. I believe this name was destined for her before she was even thought of by her parents. God's providence at work!! "Million Miles" was her debut release with Republic Records , this one "Shield " was her original release before she signed with Republic Records. Great reaction, Angelina is just awesome ,out of this world one of a kind talent at her own level I have never seen before. Some have speculated that this was about her Family even though Angelina has never stated that herself and others have accepted that as a fact with no evidence from Angelina herself. Here is another perspective on the Song "Shield" With due respect to everyone's opinion of what and who these words of Shield are written about. Some of these words could be about her Mother and family, however Angelina has never herself claimed as of yet that they are penned for her family. I have watched every interview by her and so far she has never claimed they are written solely for her Mother and family. If some one has seen an interview where she makes this claim, that I have missed please give the reference , would love to see it. Most people commenting seem to know very little of spiritual words she has used in this song. Here is what she said about this song in the interview prior to this performance after the interviewer had ask her what the song is about , " Quote from Angelina " "it is about someone you love , where ever you are . it's a a strong love , protects you ", unquote. here is that TV interview starting at 1:19 on this video where she was asked about the lyrics to Shield, Link here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2jLm4qdabmiiLM As honest loving and humble a caring person as Angina is, had she penned these words specifically about her family she certainty would have taken the opportunity at that time to say so on a nation wide show to honor her family. Here is another perspective on the Song "Shield": It is quite telling how these words line up with scripture with almost very line of the song. Also this video version of this song where she is standing by a railroad track around a cross decorated with flags with the same colors as the out fit she sewed together with the depictions from a painting of her grandmothers artwork. In this video version she first appears with her outfit on many colors she made depicting her grand mothers art work. ( 2 Samuel 13:18 And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. ) standing by the tracks and then starts to run down the tracks with shoes on and holding a bunch of flowers in her hand . Then in the next scene she comes running out from inside a giant culvert now without shoes wearing just a white dress, with a cord tied around it , stands in front of it from a moment looking back at where she just came from then turns around and walks slowly to the cross stands and raises both hands then embraces the cross and kisses it , on the cross you can see the flowers that were in her hand in the opening scene where she is running down the tracks, as well as the tattered remains of the clothes of many colours she was wearing running down the tracks. Then a train come by fast and she jumps up and down waves excitedly to the train as it roars out of sight ( she could be saying in this gesture, hey I made it, you can too or" hey world don't pass so fast look at the cross and what was done for us"). She then kneels down to a small fire and begins messing with it and on the ground there is what looks like money all around the fire.( which could be symbol of the mistake in life of just seeking after money) There is so much spiritual symbolism in this video one could write a book on this video alone, with out even contemplating the words to the song. There are so many symbolic things in this video one could write a book on it. The words to this song are very deep for a young girl to have penned and yet she wrote every one of them , they are difficult to put them as tribute to only her mother or family if you know anything of spiritual matters. These words line up perfectly with scripture. Some one has has probably posted their opinion that this was a tribute to her mother and others have adopted it as a fact. Either way it is an awesome song for a young girl to have written and arranged. Again , I have watched every one of her videos and interviews and never ever once heard her make that claim that these words were exclusively about her mother and family ,if some one has a link to such a claim by her I will retract . I am sure if she wrote a song about her mother as a tribute to her and family it would not have all the spiritual meanings and symbolisms this one has and she would surely and clearly say so when asked about this song. The scripture verses below give the foundation for this song very clearly. Genesis 15:1 : After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Ephesians 6:16: Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. This comment is in answer to the reply to my previous comment here by frauleinmona. I don't agree that I'm overdoing my praise of Angelina Jordan's singing ability and achievements. You said that she only sings covers and is only twelve. You said that most great singers play their own instruments and write their own music. Angelina is extremely well-educated in music. She started searching for artists on KZbin when she was two. She started taking singing lessons when she was three. She plays three instruments and has composed four songs. She has created videos such as Feelin' Good, Every Time We Say Goodbye, Summertime and many others that are so beautiful that they give new meaning to the concept of "beautiful. " Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday were two of the greatest, if not the greatest, jazz singers of all time. Billie Holiday couldn't read music, never composed a song and didn't play any instruments. Frank Sinatra had only a rudimentary ability to read music and played no instruments. According to Wikipedia, Frank Sinatra composed seven songs (the words t hat is). His most remembered is I'm a Fool to Want You. I think that Angelina's performance of this song on her MP3 is even better than that of Frank Sinatra. When Angelina sings a cover, she sings it in way that's so beautiful and evocative that her performance becomes unforgettable and is virtually a new creation. As of this writing (1/3/19) Angelina will be thirteen in one week. She already deserves to be ranked among the greatest singers.

In my opinion, Elvis Presley was the greatest, most cross-genred, and most versatile male singer of all time. But he never wrote any songs. He had songs especially written for him, and he covered approximately 700 others (and made them his own by his unique interpretation). He could play guitar and piano, but could not compose music; he played by ear. But few would disagree that Elvis was in a Mega-Star Galaxy all his own. And I predict that, even though Elvis "has left the building," ANGELINA JORDAN ASTAR (yes, her real last name!) has now ENTERED the building and, God willing, won't be leaving for years to come!

Here we see another indication that she enjoys perfect pitch, since she sings a few bars of a Bond song a capella, striking her first note without any outside reference for its pitch. She also seemed to do the same with her AGT "Bohemian Rhapsody," tho she may have been given the first pitch of the first note through her ear piece. If not perfect pitch, she clearly possesses a strong sense of relative pitch.
