Sohyang's performances on Begin Again are so wonderful to hear. As you noted, her voice sounds so clear, pure, precise, and just right. Like David Koepke commented - exquisite. That is the right word for it. It's just such a joy to listen to her. Not about theatrics, drama, or amazement, just music as notes flowing out of her voice. Nice reaction.

Thanks. Agreed 100% with your reaction. This was exquisite. She doesn't need a big production or super high notes to deliver. There are hundreds of amateur videos of her in church halls, at music festivals, doing benefit concerts, etc. where she just sits with only a guitar or piano as accompaniment and sings perfectly. I enjoy these as much as the Immortal Songs performances. Begin Again Korea has many videos of her singing with others in the group (here Hareem keyboardist/percussionist/singer) in addition to 2-3 solos in each of her 5 episodes this year.

She doesn't have to belt Bb5 or up to C#6 all the time although she did a week ago during her Day Day performance letting people know who the Queen still is and letting the haters know she is still a monster vocalist at the age 43 making these so called 20 something little girl singers with delusional fan base who the real boss is.

Yes, this is the cover of Mariah's version and she herself did the falsetto part of the guy who duets with Mariah all the time. She made the particular part beautiful using her celestial head voice with insane runs added. And as you said there indeed she sounded like Mariah but in my opinion in some part she was also giving off vibes of young Michael Jackson which starts in 6:35 going on for 10-15 seconds.
