From what I have seen being married into a Philippino family for 48 years and living in the Philippines for 10 years is that the reason that Filipinos are good at sounding like other singers, is because when they want to be taken seriously as a singer their critical parent and critical friends will tell them their not good because they don't sound exactly like the artist they are trying to cover.
