Hello Lisa, I love your reaction. I've been a keyboardist and singer for decades (more than I want to admit!) and this song hit me like brick the first time I heard it (in a review video of the top 10 Spotify songs on Rick Beato's channel) because it was so different than every other current or recent pop song, which tend to have overproduction covering up marginal, repetitive songwriting and vocals saturated with Autotune. Olivia is a great songwriter and singer and I love the way she perfectly blends different vocal styles to better relate the emotions of the lyrics, with a seamless transition from chest to head voice and from a breathy near whisper to belting.
