Love watching your reactions to So Hyang. I feel the same emotions and she is forever my number 1 vocalist. But if you like so hyang you need to also (and MUST) check out Ali aka cho yong jin, who is another South Korean diva and a close friend of so hyang. She is almost equally great as a vocalist but definitely equal with so hyang on the emotion and connection with her audience. Ali has had several epic performances on the same immortal songs show as so hyang. PLEASE check her out and react to her!

From an interview she gave, she done this song under the impression this was going to be her last performance. She stopped for almost 2 years after this one. She came to stage to sing this directly from the hospital (recovering from pnemonia) with doctor's orders to not even speak and return to the hospital afterwards. It was this performance also who return her back to us, as the composer of this song was looking for her to congratulate her on her amazing rendition, and this weighted on her decision to return back to performing, even when her voice never recovered to her prime condition. As she mentioned with her own words "on my prime state I was feeling like a race car, now I feel like a bus, I may run slower but can accomodate more people ..." The guy at the end that stood up to applaud is Shane Filan who is the lead singer of Irish boy band ‘Westlife’ who had a massive no1 hit all over Europe with their version of this song. He was there because the theme of that particular show was ‘the songs of westlife’, just like Michael Bolton was watching her when she performed ‘Lean on me’, which you reacted to last time.

Andrea, When you learn more about the depth of Sohyang's spirit, it will add to your appreciation of her ability to touch peoples soul, even through a little computer monitor. She is a very special and gifted person. You may know this, but she is instrumental in the designs of the musical arrangements, chorus, orchestra, and staging for all of her live performances. So, yes, you are seeing all of her enormous talent in every one of these performances. Sohyang turns 46 in a month. It's hard to believe that she still has such a beautiful voice. David Post, who heard Sohyang's song on the recommendation of Oprah Winfrey, fell in love with her song and sent her several love calls. And David Post praised Sohyang as one of the best divas he has ever met. And many people don't know, but Sohyang is one of Seth Riggs' direct disciples. Seth Riggs praised Sohyang, saying she was the only Asian who could overcome the American music barrier. And because he wanted her to advance into the United States, he personally recommended several famous musicians to her. Sony Music, the world's best record label, also sent a love call to her. Although she received numerous love calls, she politely declined many of these opportunities due to health issues and, more importantly, religious beliefs. Because she didn't want to get involved in a contract for money. Michael Bolton also suggested Sohyang to go on a world tour with him, but Sohyang politely declined and decided to only perform together in Korea. She often goes to volunteer services and wants to sing to comfort those who are struggling emotionally... but if she is tied up with a contract with a large agency, she won't be able to do the things she wants. The arrangement is a masterpiece and her vocals are stunning as always, but what makes this performance stand out even more is the fact that she was recovering from pneumonia during this performance. You must continue your journey with Sohyang, as she has so many more mind blowing performances. So nice to see you again for another phenomenal Sohyang performance. Over the years, I've watched hundreds of reaction videos of Sohyang. Some came to be amazed, and some visited for the views. I am equally pleased to see each one of them since each viewing, regardless of the motivation, means Sohyang's spirit can spread a little wider and more people can benefit from her magic. Nevertheless, it is particularly fulfilling to see reactors like you who came with the mindset to enjoy and appreciate Sohyang's musical offering. You repeatedly mentioned that you are out of words to say. Well, your body language and facial expression spoke volume to me. You also said a word that really stood out in my mind, i.e. "healing". I just found your channel last night so excuse me for being late to the party but I saw you reacting to SoHyang and had to jump in. I found SoHyang almost a year ago and was immediately captivated by not only her vocal abilities (which are beyond amazing) but also her ability to connect with an audience and her story. She's a cancer survivor as she was diagnosed with uterine cancer in her 20s and was left unable to bear children but she survived. She has had severe lung problems and suffered with pneumonia multiple times in 3 years. Only days before this show she was released from the hospital and was told by her doctors she should not even be talking let alone singing but she didn't want to let down her fans and decided to perform anyway. If you watch the entire video you can see her with her head bowed before the song begins which is when she was praying to God to help her with her performance. In her earlier years she wanted to be a big star and worked hard to get recognized but after suffering from cancer and pneumonia for years and being afraid she would no longer be able to sing she decided that she didn't care if she was a star. She only wanted to sing to help people who were suffering and hoping for even a short time she could take their mind off their problems. She has been offered multiple major recording contracts but has turned them down because she says she doesn't do it for the money and it's obvious she means it. Although still brilliant, I have been a fan of Sohyang for many years & I don’t this performance is up there with her best IMO , I don’t feel like her voice is 100% but most people wouldn’t even notice if they hadn’t listened to sohyang as much as I have, which is totally understandable as her health wasn’t good at this time,she was recovering from her latest bout of pneumonia & had been advised not to perform but she didn’t want to disappoint the people who had come to see her.

In my opinion, you have enjoyed quite a lot 'Belting' Sohyang. So if you are curious about her laid-back version, I recommend you a well-known jazz-'Misty', or her original Korean song, 'Stay' from Begin again Korea. Sohyang was just more focused on her feelings at that time to comfort people during the pendemic. And they are so precious.
