I've watched dozens of reactions to this song now, and "Who is she?!" is asked in literally every one. It's so much fun to see. Obviously Michael has a great voice, and is an amazing singer, but Ryssi (the female singer) seems to catch people off guard the most.

Same reaction as I had. One of my favorite performances of all time. They all worked so well together but, for me, Ryssi in particular pushed it to another level. Her cover of Nadarang with Khel is another gem. She also killed a cover of 4-5 seconds, but I can't find it now. Her youtube covers are usually low tech but consistently enjoyable. It's also worth finding a rehearsal posting of this song by Khel. It was loose and goofy, but they really pulled it together when the lights came on.

The song was written by Jay Durias, the bandleader and main vocalist if South Border, an all Filipino band based in the Philippines which originally recorded and released the song in the 90s or early 2000 if I'm not mistaken. This version of Michael P and friends bring this song to international recognition through KZbin via music reactors like you.

The girl is Ryssi. She has a great voice but the Philippines is too crowded and too small a market for any other talents to shine. Perhaps that's why she doesn't make an effort to show her talent online as much as others. Too bad, because she can dance, too. Someone who puts in a lot of effort, Gigi de Lana is not as talented as Ryssi but she does put in a lot of work online. Rare are Morissette and KZ who are both talented and hard-working.
