Thriller U did a cover of the tune “Sailing” on the Stereo One label, that was my introduction to Thriller U & I’ve been hooked ever since, I wasn’t aware the album Waiting For You was for England only, any tune I find with Thriller U is a must for me. On February 20th 2014 the late Frankie Paul arrived from Gambia & stayed with us for a little over a month to Rehab etc. He kept mentioning Thriller U ,( even though his health was keeping him from working ,he wanted to go on tour with Thriller U ….Wonder what the connection was between the two ) unfortunately we never heard of him at the time & since …. As a fan of 80s dance hall reggae I love the way the interviewer himself is very knowledgeable about reggae music and conducts interviews in a professional relaxed way.I remember Thriller U sparing with papa San on Creation sound back in the day. Many reggae singers from the 80s still can perform at a high standard because : a) They got into the music business not for money but for a love of the music. b)) They would practice regularly on sound systems. Even legends like Dennis Brown, Sugar Minott, Don Carlos, etc would pass through dances and perform occasionally.
